    Hi all
I'm going to be travelling to Spain later in the year and wanted to cross over to morocco,
Would anybody have any information on the times and frequency of ferries crossing from Spain (not sure of the name of the port) and tangier?
Also any information regarding places of interest and things to do in this area would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Welcome to Boards.ie :)

Rapid ferry takes 35 minutes. 8 per day every 2 hours (except on Sundays)

All the information is here Ferrys Rápidos del Sur

Yeah theres loads of ferries running that route everyday. If you are a foot passenger you can generally just show up for around 8am and buy a ticket there and then.
If you want to avoid Tangier (its not the most pleasant place and not a great introduction to Morocco) and take a different route you could try crossing from Malaga to Cueta, which is a Spanish enclave (read duty-free zone=) on the Moroccan mainland.

most of the ferries leave from Algeciras in spain, at the ferryport there are lots of different companies offering lots of different types of sailings to tangier, the fast ferry takes about 75 minutes, the town (ferryport) of algeciras is easy to reach by public transportation from places like malaga or marbella and is only a few miles from gibraltar

the fastest ferry from spain to tangier leaves from tarifa, just one company leaves from there though and not sure if any public transport goes there

Yeah well Ceuta is Spanish so it is a good starting point for Morocco rather than diving straight into the hustle and bustle that is Tangiers. Some people like Tangiers but I wasn't a major fan but you could go back to Spain that way if you really wanted to see it.

There is a thread on Morocco here, you'll find a few recommendations of where to go on it.
