Tell them it hasn't worked for 4 weeks so they are not living up to their end of the contract. Send them a letter to cancel and make sure to explain they are not providing a service so you will not pay them.

how could they have fixed it and its still not working ? whoever was supposed to fix it can be traced and if ve you ve signed a contract with them , they ll enforce that as they probably think the issue is fixed !!!!!!

Ring them and demand that it be fixed within five working days, also demand a refund of the rental for the period it was not working.

Tell them that if at the end of the five day, they still have not provide a service, you will consider the contract terminited from the first day the fault was reported and you expect a full refund of the rental for the period.

Also when cancelling, insist that they collect the equipement within five days.

They charge 100 euro to cancel???? I'm just about to cancel our (analogue) subscription because I am installing Sky into the other room - we currently had both coming into the house.

I've just cancelled mine and there was no €100 fee. They expect 30 days notice in writing though.

Yea, no-one 'fixed' it but two people tried, im going to ring them and tell them that i'm not paying, i have reported the fact that the boxes stil dont work but they are not interested they just say 'if you want to cancel that will be 100E' I am only cancelling because of the bad service i recieved!

Read this article and in particular the Sales of Goods and Services Act 1980:
    http://www.citizensinformation.ie/categories/consumer-affairs/consumer-protection/consumer-rights/consumers_and_the_law_in_ireland

and quote this act to them if they give you any hassle.

If they still don't play ball, tell them you will write a letter of complaint to the National Consumer Agency and bring the complaint to the Small Claims Court.

At this stage they should cancel the contract without issue.
