    Hello All,

I normally stay in the suburbs but this time I need to stay in Paris City Centre for a match in Stade de France.

Where to stay? Budget is up to €180 per night.

Where to stay? If you have €180 to spend I'd say "Anywhere you like!" :)

The Novotel Les Halles is a decent 3* which involves about a 20 yard stroll from the hotel to the RER B station which takes you to the Stade. €170 a night is they have a room free.

If you're really not picky it's not that hard to get a hotel which will be a *lot* cheaper. Depends really on if it's just a place to kip for a few hours or if it's meant to be part of a relaxing weekend break.

Something contemporary or better. Something along the Clarion lines. I do not like places to just put my head down although I do not like to spend stupid money on places with leuisure centres, spa's, casinos etc when I will not be using them.

I was looking at the Mercure Wagram just off the Arc De Triomphe

But I also want other people's suggestions.

Marriot Rive Gauche is a little it further out, but not a lot out. Nice hotel, good sized rooms, short walk from the RER B also for Stade de France.

If your budget is in the €200 range and you want a jem of a room then ring the Terrase Hotel on Rue Joseph de Maistre and ask specifically for room 703. Its a 'junior suite' iirc and you'll be rewarded with views of the Eiffel Tower, not only from your bed but also your jacuzzi :D

I stayed there with the g/f a couple of years back in winter, it was just sublime. Im not sure if their summer prices might be over your budget but its worth ringing them to find out, its a superb room and if you can get it for sub €200 its a steal :)

edit: just had a squiz at their website, their summer price is waaay more than we paid in winter a couple of years back, currently €380 per night=( Pity, its a great spot and Montmatre is a cool part of the city to stay in...

Hilton CDG Airport, excellent hotel and great locating for stade de france imo, I stayed there for the champions league final back in 2006 and worked out great for the match particularly after the match.

Our venue of choice for the matches in the Stade is the Hotel de Suez situated on the Bvd St Michel. Literally a 10 minute walk to Notre Dame. Lots of connections for the RER out to the Stade. Not the most salubrios but very, very reasonable for the great location.

    Bon voyage!

We stayed in the boutique hotel Grand St Michel and thought it was lovely. http://www.grand-hotel-st-michel.com/pages/rooms_1.html
