i have got a job starting early july and decided to celebrate with a few days (8th-11th june) to london as it was dirt cheap. only thing is, i only remembered this morning my signing day is 10th june.

as i will be signing off at the end of june, what should i do in this regard? take a weeks holidays? when should i tell them?

if i take a weeks holidays, does that payment pass on to another week or is is forfeited?

You're allowed to take up to two weeks' holiday per year, so just tell them the dates you'll be out of town (no need to take a whole week off) and you'll still get paid for the days you're away :)

It's ok, just go in a few days before your holiday to let them know that you'll be away from the 8th to the 11th. They'll mark it down as holidays taken but you're allowed up to two weeks so it won't affect your payments, although you might have to wait until the next week to pick up the one from the week of your holiday :)
