By any chance does anyone know the IAAF wind legal limit in 100m and 200m? And how do you do the wind calculation of of your sprint time.

The legal limit is 2 metres per second.

As to how to measure the effect on your time - anyone else care to comment?

what if you have 2.0 wind does that mean your race time is illigal? or just bearly official.

Just means that your times won't get counted for world records.

    2.0 m/s is legal.

Anything faster and it won't count even for a PB let alone records.

There will be a wind gauge halfway up the track but I'm not sure how long or the duration that it is 'on' or whether it takes an average or max.

Looks like you got your PB so RealistSpy, congrats. Still plenty more track season left to bring it down further...

What did you run Sunday? I was there for a bit and the conditions were perfect. Very hot and a nice tailwind.

10 sec duration, started on the gun for 100m/100mH/110mH, and as the runners come off the bend for 200m. If you have this luxury on horizontal jumps it's 5 (poss 7) sec. And it's the average wind speed.

    That sounds really complicated

Not really, once it's all set up.

Consulting the UK Athletics rules book (in the seeming absence of an AAI one) it seems I got the above totally wrong. The duration of the wind recording is in fact

Distances up to and including 100m - 10sec
    100mH & 110mH - 13sec
200m - 10sec (from runners coming off the bend)
    Horizontal jumps - 5sec

And for the really really interested the reading is always rounded up to the nearest 0.1mps in the postive direction. So a +2.03 reading is recorded as a +2.1.

Yeh its all handy enough to do, I've taken wind measurements at events in the track in greystones before. Ya have a wind gauge and hand held computer and just have to slap in to measure average wind speed for 10 secs, hit the start when the runners come around the bend or off the blocks on a 100m and it spits out a windspeed measurement.
