Being all Hip-Hop fans on this forum (obviously!) we all have come into contact with the Wu-Tang Clan, just curious what the general consensus is on the forum when it comes to the favourite member:

Mine definitely has to be Ghostface Killah because he is the most consistent member of the Wu-Tang Clan, every album hes released has either a few bangin songs or is just generally off the hook! Just to list the top 3 (IMO); Fishscale, Supreme Clientele, Ironman, would put the majority of rappers to shame.
Then his appearences are sensational: Doom, Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Mobb Deep and all the rest of the stuff he drops with the Wu, especially Raewkon.
Then his flow, OMG, what ****ing beat can't he rap over! Quick, smooth and precise, with a rhyming scheme that is borederline classical poetry.
Finally the topics he cover aren't full of ****, he is that cocky, he has that much money, and he is that tough (Mase will testify to that).
    What more can I say?

gza's b.i.b.l.e and fame are deadly

odb was class, but not on a lyrical level

rza - need i say more than the mans name?

method man - fresh, only way to describe it

raekwon and ghost some great songs - nothing that sticks out except only built for cuban links

all together, minus the last album except the heart gently weeps, they are whopper

Method Man, hes just one hell of a cool mo-fo. he was in the wire 2 so that gets him extra points in my book. Release yo Delf is still one of my all time favourite hip hop tracks!

Ol' Dirty - I just loved all his stuff on 36 Chambers. He was the one that really stood out for me and I think he's just got such an entertaining rapper.

A year or two ago, it was undoubtedly Ghost but it is now a toss up between him and Method. Saw Wu at ****** the last time they were here and Method Man just stole the show. Last time I saw Ghost I wasn't overly impressed.

36 Chambers - best album ever in any genre!!!

Its hard to say..Based on solo material i would say Ghost or Meth but it just feels wrong not to give Gza or Rae a mention..Masta Killas solos are both top notch too.
As for live performance i seen them at ****** too..i thought they were pretty poor from other videos ive seen of them live but Meth was a ****ing livewire.
Ive seen Ghost solo a few times..he was good the first and bleh the second.Id rather see him come out and do a performance for 45 by himself than with theodore unit..

I don't usually like shouty kind of rappers but ODB was just magnificent. He'd just such an off kilter delivery.

Ghostface has been the most consistent but I find it hard to listen to whole albums of his repeatedly. Just starts to grate.

Ultimately I think they're best as a unit. They're all really different, but they all gel really well together at the same time.

I would probably saw Ghostface, purely for the strength of his solo catalouge compared to that of some of his brethern. That, and his flow is bananas, and always drops some bangers, although lately he's giving too much guest appearances to the theordore unit.

But there really isn't much between a lot of them in my book. When on his game, Raekwon is an unbelieveable emcee - he flows so smoothly over RZA beats, and his story telling skills are top notch. I think rae shines the best when he's working with Ghost - whether its just the chemistry between them, or the friendly comptetion they provide, i just love any track the two bless together.

I love Meth, but he disappoints me to a certain extent. He posses the most polished, butter smoth flow ever, and has all the elements to be the G.O.A.T. - but he only ever seems to bring that A-Game on Wu albums in my book - i think he steals the show on every track he appears on in OBFCL, Liquid Swords. I would actually love to hear an album with just Rae, Ghost and Meth (or as their Wu-Gambino alter egos), over RZA production. I think the other two bring the best out of him - see Wu-Gambinos, Yolanda's House, New Wu, Heart Gently Weeps etc.

Although not the best emcee, without doubt RZA contributes most to the WU, at least in their earlier days. His production was amazing, and he managed to get the best out of them all. I don't think you could have the Wu without the RZA.

I think ODB and the GZA need an honourable mention as well. Only really getting into Liquid Swords now, and while i'm not the biggest fan of his monotone delivery, GZA really is a great lyrcisit and drops some dope! Not really up on ODB's solo work, but he really did add something different, and there really was no father to his style.

Yeah I'd agree with that although BIBLE is by Killah Priest so I should check him out as I love that song. GREAT GREAT album.

GZA all the way, for liquid swords alone. RZA's a close second, the Wu would be nothing without him and his production.
