but the Body goes on Living...

not to sound too melodramatic but I'm really starting to feel that my best years are behind me and I'm only 27

left my excellent job about two months ago,and against my gut feeling went to work for a complete shower of soulless w$nkers, struggled to make it work but in the end i had to quit
before I went over the edge and done a micheal douglas on the place...

    so I'm 27,single,no useable qualifications,
    and currently no job

every conversation I have is about the recession
all my mates are settling down
bills are coming in and I have no Idea how I'll pay them
owe 5k on the credit card
it's silly but the one outlet i had is gone because our drummer quit
so even the band is "on a break" that really was an outlet for alot of stuff

I just feel like running away from Ireland,Reality, all that I regret not doing these past ten years or so that I feel I've squandered
for not fighting to keep the Girl I was crazy about when I was 23
for not getting a degree when I've brains to burn but Im a lazy piece of ****e

sorry for the totally self-obsessed,whiney rant but right now I just don't see an out
    ...anyone got a shovel?

    Whats stopping you?

Might be the best thing you ever do, might not. I seriously doubt the best years of your life are gone.

Unless of course you do nothing with the rest of your life.

You're just in a slump now, thats the way it works.

You can either ride it out and hope things get better on its own or you can make a drastic change in your life and attitude and make it change.

The blood crawls to a slow and stops....and flows away.

Turn off the tv, turn down the lights, and lie on the couch listening to For The Birds or Set List.
While you're lying there, ask yourself if the things you're worrying about are really going to matter in 5 years time.

The hollow in your chest dries up
    and you stop believing....

Don't let it happen, Lost at Sea...start swimming.

OP, I wouldn't recommend sitting in the dark listening to the Frames as the above poster has suggested.

    How come?
He's obviously a Frames fan, as am I, and when I lie down and listen to their albums they relax me....I always feel content afterwards.

From a fellow musician feeling your pain on that front, do as the first reply suggests, go for it. We're one hundred percent gig ready and really have great aspirations but have spent the last year unable to tie down a bassist. Not sure if you agree but for me, this grates away at the back of my mind. Music is my passion and due to one little annoying factor I've been deprived of it for far too long. In turn that brings me down in general. Thrwo yourself into it as much as you can, it will help.

... I missed that, sorry. I thought it was just you.

    carry on... :o

EDIT: Oh yeah forgot. OP, if you haven't already, ditch the credit card!

 Erm....you thought what was just me?
I'm a musician as well... music is the only thing that chills me. The lyrics in most of the Frames' songs aren't the most upbeat for the OP's mood, but the music itself should feed him.

I didn't cop that the OP was a fan too, I thought it was just you.

Your right about the music though. I love really depressing mellow blues, makes me happy!

    Go for it OP!
