installing freeview

    hi,i have sky + in the main living room and have an old sky box that i would like to put in the bedroom.my question is can i split one of the sky + cables(there are two)and run a cable off it up stairs to the old sky box for freeview?or do i need to run a new cable from the lnb as it have 4 connections?

    you cant split the cable .


    you will have to run a new one from the lnb to the bedroom, will work fine.

    Its probably best to get a quad and run another cable to your bedroom(2 if you want to use sky plus in the bedroom). Since splitting on the cable can restrict what you can view if someone is viewing/recording in the other room

    I assume you me Sky Free-to-view, or the generic Freesat!

    yes its a quad lnb with 2 free connections and just using a standard skybox without a card
