I got robeplan (http://www.robeplan.com/index.html) they did not have the crazy waiting times or the massive price when i was looking. The fitter that came out was very good and the wardrobe is great.

I got a sliding door wardrope in Ikea (flatpack), you can design the interior to your own needs. plus you can choose different styles of slding doors, glass, mirrored, wood etc. total cost me 420euro, and that was including all the interior bits. plus the added advantage is you can change the interior if you want.

Woodies also carry fittings and doors and inside units to design your own sliderobes. Don't know about prices.

i bought sliding wardrobe doors in homebase and they cost me about €170 each x 3 and the tracking is extra. I got a great polish guy who was recomended to build a surround on to the existing wardrobe shell. he only charged me €200 to install them. They are great looking and really do the job. I got Kube interiors last tear to put in a full sliding wardrobe and they were fantastic really good quality and I got it when the sale was on with huge discount so look out for that sale .

Lifestyle furniture (Portlaoise) have a good range. I recently got one fitted from here. It's a bit on the pricey side but worked out approx €1000 cheaper than sliderobes quote and it's a great quality finish.

I too looked at a number of the options and this turned out to be the best option for me. You can choose froma a number of finishes and there are no incidental costs. Essentially one price for the size requested and you can add in the different storage options you need for the same price.

It's a better option than the freestanding alternatives from homebase and ikea, but you do pay for quality.
