Something very finny happened the PS3 today, was playing COD5 online, disconnected as usual when a call came through on the landline, no problems so far as it happened me a lot.

But now I cant get a connection at all, tried testing it, it can't find an ip address. Im using an Eircom Netopia router (sigh), any help?

This may not be an internet problem. If your PS3 can't get an IP Address, the problem lies with the Netopia.

Are there other wifi signals in the area interfering with yours? Try running NetStumbler on a laptop if you have one.

Maybe try connecting your PS3 to the Netopia via cable rather than wireless and see if the problem persists. I bet you it won't fail.

This is a landline, broadband problem.
Are you saying that you lose internet connection everytime the landline phone rings?
Sounds like you aren't using a filter on all your phone sockets & the splitter filter to phone, broadband connection on your netopia router.

What speed broadband do you have with Eircom? What are your line stats (Attenuation & SNR)?
