Buying a bike in Spain

I'm trying to get my boyfriend to get a road bike, but it'll only be something simple and cheap like what I have (the Beone Briza that CRC used to do for €300).

We'll be in Spain in a couple of weeks (with the car), so we were thinking of trying to get something there, based on the presumption that anything will be cheaper there than here.

For this type of entry level bike, would it be worth the potential hassle (we don't speak any Spanish, won't be near any big towns, don't know much about bikes etc etc), or would it be easier just to get something here?

    Hi :)
I am so proud of you!! Usually these threads are started by men who want to buy a bike for their girlfriends.

Decathlon should be a good place to start looking.

    decathlon.co.uk ( for the english version )
    decathlon.es
Their online shop is here to give you an idea this is 300 quid

Ha! Yep, I decided to buck the trend. Although I refuse to let him get a good bike because

    a) He's going to kick my ass on any and all hills (...and flats...and descents...) without even trying, so I want him to get a nice heavy bike :-)
    b) His bike can't be nicer than mine!

I'd been looking at Decathlon, so it's good to get a recommendation for it. Driving down through France, so might try Decathlon there instead (cos I can make myself understood, just about, in French!)
