Hi, My 1998 VW Polo saloon is revving very high (2000 rpm) when stationary ie when i first start it and when i stop or if im crawling in traffic. Can anyone advise what it might be? thanks in advance.

Could be any number of things really, maybe a simple problem

like a build up of carbon on a trottle position sensor, or maybe a temp

sensor needs replacing, best to bring it to a good mechanic who can

do a diagnositic check, find the problem there and then.
