Ok folks I have looked at all kinds of GPS systems out there and I am still no closer to making a decision but I have decided I think it can help my game and I am a softy for gadgets ha.

    For example:

SKY CADDIE : Is pricey, only holds 10 courses, must download each course as needed, has a annual fee, does not have a scorecard, but looks very tidy etc

GOLF BUDDY: Dearest of them all, has a scorecard, holds 15000 courses, no annual fee, no downloads needed, however has a poor enough signal strength and doesnt look as user friendly as the Sky Caddie.

Just your opinion folks, does anybody out there use one ??? How do they find it ? does anyone have any recommendations????

    Advice / Help appreciated

I have the Caddy Lite from Golf GPS ie. Tried it just before I went on holidays at my home course (where it is approved). These GPS devices are being allowed by the R&A and USGA, but they have passed responsibility onto clubs themselves as to whether they are allowed or not.
Used it in a fourball matchplay event. I know the distances for each club in my bag, and on each hole, I was told what exact distance I had to the pin.
Was pin high during the match on every hole, and closed it out on the 14th hole. 130 euro including delivery. Great piece of kit.
Like you mentioned, 10 courses, and you have to pay a subscription of £40.00 per annum. My mate thinks though, you can download the courses to your PC, and then transfer them across, so in effect you only join for 1 year, and get as many courses as you can.
Haven't tried to do that yet, but will keep you posted.

Having recently used one I would suggest the one that holds 10 courses. How often and regularly will you play 10 different courses? If you’re a member somewhere my bet is you will have that course and possible 3 more that you play regularly. Not sure what download costs are but the annual subscription I believe is low enough and you can download any course when you want them.
