Any particular needs? Need to tow a boat or anything? My choice would be an M5, OK you will not get a new one but go back a year or two and you'll get a nice one.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 68 ✭✭TheKnowledge

no i dont need to tow anything. I just want something really powerful. can be a coupe or saloon

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,056 ✭✭✭Tragedy

If you dont know much about cars, you probably just want
    1)Stylish
    2)Exclusive
    3)Comfortable with very nice interior
Most cars in that price range would be "really" powerful anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,451 ✭✭✭CharlieCroker

Are you happy with the Merc? How about something AMG? Prob be older than your current car though.
M3 is another option, comes in coupe and Saloon.
You could go MAD and buy one of these: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/849734.htm

With that kinda budget, anything is possible really!!!

I like the look of this. I like the black convertible look. http://www.carzone.ie/search/Aston-Martin/DB9/VOLANTE/200920192796079/advert?channel=CARS Is this a good car?

New m3 or roll back a year and save yourself 20-30k. You'll never get bored of that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,451 ✭✭✭CharlieCroker

If you don't, i'll come and find you and drag you to the the dealership!!!!

Love to be in your position.

If I was I'd go for the M3. You could get a year old car and have plenty of money left over for petrol. :D

I wouldnt go for a ferrari anyway. its a bit vulgar looking. I'm recently divorced and looking for a woman so i'd like something that would attract females. http://www.carzone.ie/search/Mercedes-Benz/320/R--Cdi-A/200840190232180/advert?channel=CARS Would the females like this?

Use google like any normal person and choose what you like. If you have that kind of money to spend it should be no problem for you to buy something else if you dont like what you get.

    Edit: Who saves uo €100K??

I can't see many women being attracted to a 7 seater family bus!!
How could you want that when you find your "S-class" boring??

I was simply asking for some friendly advice and discussion. I find your tone very offensive and aggressive.

13 posts from the op and 100k to spend on a car, sniff sniff.....

Post count isn't really related to income

OP, any more information? Do you need 4 seats? Do you cover much milage...

While you could get a nice Aston or ferrari for that money all the assosiated cost will go way up. Is that a problem?

If you want to keep the running costs semi - normal i'd suggest an RS4, M3, A5 or maybe a merc coupe.

Not a decision to be rushed into when it comes to that amount of money, especially as you don't seem sure about what you're looking for.

I simply told you what you should do. If you have the means to get yourself €100k I would have thought you would be able to buy your own car.

And please dont send me any more PM's telling me that I must be poor.

There's "what should I buy threads" on here every day. What does it matter if it's 1k or 100k. People still like a discussion and to hear other peoples opinions.

OP if you're serious about spending that amount of money, ignoring the unhelpful comments and you should get some good advice here.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,134 ✭✭✭x in the city

I bet the OP is 16 and just is looking up posters for his wall and equating these into 100k super cars

Yes you would get some good advice here from all the people who are buying €100k plus cars here. Not me of course as I am poor.

X in the city and kol have serious attitude problems. They can feel satisfied they've ruined an interesting discussion of which if i'm correct is the purpose of boards.ie

Just to clarify there are more than likely people here who can spend €100k plus on a car, and they may even seek the advice/comments of the likes of me!!! but realistically there are not many people spending €100k on a car that seek the advice of boards.ie before they do so. Maybe I am unhelpful, but I would like to think I am living in the real world.

Plus the OP sent me a PM telling me that I am a poor person, I am poor FYI!!!!

I did no such thing!!! This seems like a poor attempt at smearing my character to hide his own ignorant previous behaviour. I simply seaked advice and now am a victim of abuse. This forum is pointless.

You are a victim of your own financial sucess. Boo hoo. You "sought" (not seaked) advice. You have not been abused ( merely advised). Please visit the thunderdome for abuse. This forum is far from pointless. Every day there is a meaningful thread that discusses all relevant motoring issues to the full and beyond (thankfully due to the imaginagtion and wit of the regular posters here). In my experience of this forum I have learned a lot and have gained a lot lot of knowledge. At the same time I have learmed to recocognise the strong threads from the weak. This is one of the weak....

how bad. most people these days are over 100k in debt. of course when someone comes along and says they saved up that amount they all think he's mad for not doing what everyone else does, wondering where the money came from and if he's paid his tax. jealousy basically

this kind of crap is more prevalent in overpopulated places like holland, but dublin as well. I was once in a forum where this lad posted a review of a Vertu (very expensive) phone. He ended up getting flamed and the topic went to **** because of jealous ****ers wondering where he got the money from, when the said jealous ****ers were probably living off credit cards.

i hate this place, its full of people on high horses who support the government in every way, the 'speeding kills' crowd, the 'you should be up to your eyes in debt like everyone else' crowd, the 'driving cars is bad' tree-hugger crowd, cyclists who hate cars. they are all tolerated here, all the real car enthousiasts are gone to a better forum.

only here are people openly allowed to poke fun at anyone who spends a lot of money on a car, ridicule them for buying something more than a 2 litre. its like the christianity forum where there are only a few actual christians left and those are constantly being pelted with abuse from militant atheists

You want Women, get an Aston, Car people appreciate the likes of M5's, M3's and the like, If a woman saw you driving one they wouldn't know it was anything special, if you want to show off a bit (and so you should having that kind of money!) get an Aston of a nice Porsche, Everyone know's an Aston Martin when thay see one

If he thinks Ferrari's are a bit vulgar then Lambo's are certainly outta the question!!! With that money you could nearly get a second hand Audi R8 of a Nissan GTR. Both different, looks great and the women would like em too!!!

    this:

    Quattroporte

    or

    this:

    Skyline

    PS - Lucky B*stard:p

Troll I'm sure. Why spend so much on something you have little interest or knowledge of. What, just because you can. Doesn't make sense. If you need a car to make an impression, that's the problem and a flash car will not compensate.

On the .01% chance you are genuine, I would recommend this http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php?product=105932&cat=2 - There is a moral to the tale, What 100K+ looks like (140 even) a few years down the line. You could always get a chauffeur with the change.

BMWs, Astons etc are all great cars but if you really want to get excited about driving I'd suggest you keep the Benz for the day to day stuff and keep the boredom at bay with the following:
