Dull oil paints

Hi I'm looking for some advice. I painted a lily in oils on a low quality canvas board and now the colour looks really dull. It's part of a pair and I painted the first lily on a good quality canvas so I can only conclude that it is the fault of the canvas as I used all the same mediums and paints for both. Is there anything I can do to fix this or should I just buy a new canvas and start over?

maybe a varnish will put a shine to it? otherwise try and put a few bright accents on some spots try create some eye-catching features,
the canvas quality can matter a whole lot.
