Had a good oul' think about where to put this thread; and thought here would be best - though feel free to move...

Long story short: bought a laser printer 2 weeks ago, as I need to run off around 10,000 copies of a letter. Laser printer is DOA. By the time I get a new one to me, it'll be too late. We need these by Wednesday.

    So, any suggestions of either:

Places to get a decent black and white laser printer (new or second hand)

    or

A print place that'll run off 10k letters; and won't charge me more than it'd cost to buy the printer and ink

    would be deadly. Any ideas?

If you're willing to pay up to the cost of a new printer and ink just buy a new printer! You already have the ink.

You'd better get a sprint on, seriously like.

Ring Printworld in palmerstown, Dublin 20

I emailed them a leaflet I did up on my pc and had two thousand delivered two hours later. I am next door though.

Will be returning the ink with the laser printer, naturally enough... it never had a single piece of paper go through it, so wouldn't want to lose out on my 550eur refund over that!

    Sound man superscouse, will do!

If you don't mind me asking, why do you need to print 10,000 letters?

    Photocopy?

    Impacto Print (Letterkenny)

I hope it's 10,000 leaflets waffling on about "a better environment". I love them.

Give up and moan about the recession. Its what everybody else here does ;)

Hah, yes, leaflets have long since been done of course (four different series of them; 15,000 copies of each!) :) but cheers for the concern! Letters seem to be different to brochures; and the best printers for brochures certainly don't seem to be the cheapest for letters and, as far as I'm concerned, a letter is a letter is a letter - so it's handiest to know who'd be the cheapest printer.

    10k leaflets.

Jesus. How many of those are people going to read. Mail drops are just as bad as spam mail. Fvcking hate them!

Ok, I'm guessing its for mail drops or are they for something else?

Member of the Green Party? Nah, doubt it.

Have you considered hiring a crack team of calligraphy trained midgets? They're a little more pricey then your standard typist, but would be totally worth it.
