Would have no problem with keane scoring a winner. I don't believe that he was particularly mistreated and firmly believe that his sale made perfect business sense in retrospect but he understandably will feel he has something to prove. He is better than he he got a chance to show at Liverpool and will obviously want to prove that.

Am glad the game means little or nothing to us for that reason actually. Wouldn't like to have to win this match despite Spurs record away from home this season.

And before it starts. It is obvious that Liverpool intended on keeping Keane right up to the transfer deadline. This is reflected in the fact the he was registered as part of our CL squad a day or two the deadline. Spurs were sniffing around then but were offering pittance for him. It was only on the last day that they admitted that Defoe was a medium to long term injury and upped the offer to a reasonable amount.

Liverpool only ended up loosing 3 million on the deal and I for one am happy with that. A significant loss would have been a major issue for me but Robbie leaving made sense in the end.

I would! Another clean sheet and Pepe wins the Golden Gloves for the fourth year in a row!

Samis final match so I'll be looking for a postive sending off for the big Finn.

    Sky Sports wrote:
Liverpool will end the Premier League season dreaming of what might have been when Tottenham arrive at Anfield on Sunday.
When the fixture computer served up Spurs at home on the final day of the campaign, mental images on Merseyside turned to Steven Gerrard lifting the league trophy high into a sunny sky.
However, Manchester United wrapped up the silverware last weekend and there is now only second place that Rafa Benitez's side, who correctly view the campaign as progress, can look to guarantee.
Perhaps even more notable, though, will be the probable inclusion of veteran defender Sami Hyypia in the first XI as the centre-back, who could captain the side, plays the last game of his memorable 10-year stay.
    Priorities

Tottenham have their own priorities and will have no room to offer sentiment towards Hyypia as they continue to pursue a place in next season's Europa League.
Harry Redknapp has performed a miraculous job at White Hart Lane since taking over as manager last October and has transformed Spurs from relegation candidates to European contenders.
As Robbie Keane returns to Anfield, after being sold back to Tottenham in the winter transfer window following an unsuccessful six-month stay at Liverpool, the North London club sit two points behind seventh-placed Fulham.
Redknapp's men are the only side that can still catch Roy Hodgson's troops, who occupy the last remaining league position that will secure continental football in 2009/10, creating plenty of motivation.
    Bust-up

Liverpool boss Benitez is set to hand Hyypia a start as he bids farewell to the club so fellow defenders Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel will contest for a place on the bench.
Midfielder Xabi Alonso, whose future is uncertain, is expected to feature in the first XI after nursing his way back from bruising with a second-half substitute appearance in last weekend's relegation-causing victory at West Brom.
Jamie Carragher and Alvaro Arbeloa should both play a part, despite a much-publicised, on-field bust-up at The Hawthorns, as Liverpool look to avenge defeat at White Hart Lane last November.
Tottenham will be without midfielder Tom Huddlestone as the 22-year-old is set to undergo surgery on his left knee.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto returned from a foot injury to replace Gareth Bale in last weekend's crucial win against Manchester City, while Vedran Corluka got the nod over Alan Hutton.
    Possible starting XIs

Liverpool: Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Hyypia, Aurelio, Kuyt, Alonso, Mascherano, Riera, Gerrard, Torres.
Tottenham: Gomes, Corluka, Woodgate, King, Assou-Ekotto, Bale, Jenas, Zokara, Modric, Keane, Defoe.

I hope Gerrard scores a hat trick and claims the top scorer prize with Reina claiming the golden gloves with another clean sheet followed by Sami scoring the 4th in injury time in front of the Kop.

Robbie Keane to score with his left arse cheek or the inside of his right thigh or claim someone elses goal.

    No babel??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

No Dossena in the squad either.

Odds on neither of them being at the club next season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,588 ✭✭✭daithijjj

    No babel??

Babel will leave us this summer and become a great player elsewhere imo. 2 years at the club and never played 2 full games on the trot.

No babel is a pretty big statement. No reports of injury either.

Does not look like there will be a babel time at the kop ever again.

they were singing 'Fat Spanish W****R' towards rafa... do all fans sing stuff like that? never noticed it as much as i do from spurs fans.. bit harsh!

an early goal would have really put spurs to bed i think and could have ended up with 3/4-0.
