I've heard a few people say that when you eject the mag the ready mag with the battery in it also falls out and I just want to know if its true or not.

no that wont happen, not unless you push the mag release all the way in hard. the catch has some space between it and the ready-mag so you can press it without releasing the fake mag too. :)

Anyone know if it takes the same battery as the M4 S System?

I would say, ready-mag system for battery cover is not really nice. its loose, and like to fall out :-/ but, except that, its was great for me.

Needs AN/PEQ battery pack only (for me at least:-/)
