Saxophonist seeks wedding song

Alright thought I might come over here and seek some female opinion on this. A good friend of mine has asked me to play the sax at her wedding reception. Not a full gig or anything, she just wants me to play 2/3 songs before the band gets underway.
I've been playing for a few years now so am competent in most things, or if not I can learn reasonably quickly ( and I have till Sept. to learn any tracks. I can also play the soprano sax as well as the alto so if there are any songs that really need a soprano tone then that can be arranged too.

But where we are stuck is in what to play. Ive suggested something like 'Killing Me Softly' as it is a song very suited to the sax. But she is more set on something like My Heart will go on; thing is she likes the tune but feels (like myself) that it might be a bit cheesy.

So if you have any suggestions for a romantic song or two that would translate well to saxophone treatment then let us know :)

I was gonna suggest another take that song!

What about 'The Greatest day of our lives' or / and 'rule the world'

Both lovely wedding-y songs I think- whether they are Sax friendly or not is another matter tho!

Actually pretty much any Take That song would be great- but I am still on the post concert buzz so im a bit biased!

you might want to ask her first about take that - i would lose the plot if anyone played them at my wedding

how about something like gabriels oboe (i know its the wrong instrument but may be ..........) or a bit of abba

there are so many brilliant blue/jazz songs why dont you have a listen to some billie holiay and people of her era. there is a brilliant 2 cd called lady sing the blues, songs like fever, cry me a river etc. have a listen to that

The sax in Hazel O'Connors "Will You" has got to be the best piece ever written for a sax.

Oh, and what pfb said above.

Louis Armstrong, billie holiday, ella fitzgerald, nina simone.
    So many fantastic blues artists.

Sorry, but Take That are not artists. Not in the true sense of the word. Being manufactured does not count!

The way you look to night by Sinatra/Buble

    The Benny Hill theme tune
