This is an Under-21 Youth Friendly International Tournament between teams from the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England.
Teams will be arriving in the Green Isle tonight and the event will commence on Saturday at 11.00am.

Should be some top-class darts there from the 'Stars of the Future'.

The crowds are gathering at the Green Isle for the Youth Friendship Trophy.

106 players are competing in the 'Blind Draw' Doubles tonight.

The place is buzzing - - - should be great for the rest of the weekend !

Hoping to get updates later and will post depending on how late it goes on.

Planning to get to bed as early as possible - travelling up to the Green Isle tomorrow.

James Gearon from Tipperary was drawn with William Burleigh from Northern Ireland in the Doubles competition and they defeated two players from Northern England, Leon Bailey and Duncan Morris, 4-0 in the final.
Two Roscommon players, David Concannon and Mark Finneran, were drawn together and they lost out to the runners-up in the semi-finals.

The standard of play on the night was top-class !

Unless he averages mid 70's he'll struggle to make it near the squad.

Missed doubles proved very costly for the Republic of Ireland team in the Youth Friendship Trophy.
They lost out by the narrowest of margins to the England {Northern Youth} team.
They had some consolation with their team captain Jason Cullen {Wexford} winning the Singles competition with a victory over Leon Bailey {England} in the final.

Yeah hes probably there abouts so as long as he is a 75 minimum all the time. Does he go to the INDO jr/sr competitions. think its taken straight off the rankings but im not sure.

One look at the current indo ranking shows its almost all the juniors now who dominate bar the same old few (McCloskey, Finnan etc....) Paddy Meaney is no.2. Give it 3 years and the current jr's will be top dogs and barely out of there teens. Meaney, Heneghan, Courtney, Finneran etc... all are going to easily push the standard further up in the country.

Saw alot of youths dominate in the mens qualifiers for Mayo too last weekend, a couple of lads finishing with 10 or so ranking points.

It must be great to practice with the players on your team D, your local friendly competitions must be great.

Well as you can imagine possibly playing Jacko or Mick means nobody takes a game lightly

Dylan does go to INDO ranking stuff, dont think he plays many senior one's though.

It is definitely great practice having somebody quality to play against, someone you know you cant win legs without playing well, so you keep your standard high all the time

Think there's a tournament in the club next week, gotta go down and try take a scalp :D
