I just got a few quotes for tyres and I was wondering if the tyres are any good?

    Bridgestone €75
    Silverstone €60
    Nexon €60
    GT €65

    All are 195/60/15 88H.

I know the Bridgestone will be the best, but I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment.

    Thanks.

Of those I wouldnt put them on a wheelbarrow. What about Michelin, Semperit, Goodyear, Dunlop or Continental.

    +1

Its a false economy to put on cheap sh**e. The small bit extra might be the difference between stopping or going through a hedge backwards and costing yourself thousands in damage. Go the hog and get the good ones.;)

Vredestein might come in a bit cheaper than Bridgestone. try eiretyres.com.

Camskill.co.uk, way cheaper than eiretyres including delivery.

That's just tyres. I'd still have to get them fitted, tracked and balanced...

I just rang around again, and Bridgestone's are the best tyres on offer.

The still could work out cheaper - check it out.
Although the bigger the size the greater the saving...

I got a set of Yokohama's up north, got them fitted in a place in Santry (We Fit?) for €20 so saved around €200 total. So work out if its worth it from Limerick.

for an extra 15 euro a tyre Bridgestones.
I love the way that a certain large fast fit chain always refer to Gadjah Tungals as GT's :D

money on tyres is well spent . they wear better and are safer imho

Its strange, people wouldn't buy a Lada yet they have no problem putting the tyre equivalent of one under their car to keep them safe:confused:

Pay an extra few quid and buy a decent brand. If you can get them delivered from Camskill I dont think it would be that hard to find someone local to you to fit/balance/track them and the car afterwards

If you buy them online, MTS garage on the Dublin Road opposite the A1 bar will fit and balance them for you no problem. I've had them do it for me lots of times I think they charge around €40/€45 for fitting/balancing 4 tyres and disposing of the old ones.

but don't get your tracking done there, last time I was in MTS got tracking done on way to nct, guess what, failed on wheel alignment.

Got it done in Victory tyres & sailed through on retest.

Try Abbey tyres in Abbeyfeale. Cheapest around Limerick last few times I bought. And Bridgestones are way better than Michelins. Go for a decent brand anyway wherever you buy.

I'm looking for two new front ones for a focus. 205/50/17

Looking at Goodyear...best I got was €125. Are they any good though?

I need them for the weekend and can only get time off for fitting on Friday evening....so online isn't an option. I'm in south dublin....but don't mind traveling a bit. Any suggestions?

*edit* got a quote for Kumo tyres €235 for both.

I have Eagle F1s and they're very good, got em in 215/45/R17 from camskill for 90 a corner delivered but think they were on offer.

If there F1s and your in a hurry its not bad for 17s in a bricks and mortar tbh.

you can get 2 Vredstein Hitracs from camskill for 127 delivered. throw 15 per tyre on top of that for fitting and you're finished at 157 for 2 good tyres.
