Paying Fine - Credit card Issue

Dear all, please note that if your credit card details are not correct as judged by members of an garda siochana, you may well end up paying more than the original fine, as the clock keeps ticking, even if your credit card is absolutely fine (pardon the unnecessary pun) for all other transactions on planet earth. I have had my fine sheet returned twice and when I complained I was told tough luck basically. I got to e-mail someone who said try the post office, and there I was able to pay with, wait for it, yes, the same credit card that was rejected twice before by AGS. The result is that i had to pay €120, and was advised that i should have gone to the post office earlier, or paid earlier, which was a little difficult as I only got the letter almost 20 days in. I didn't bother asking for an explanation for that one, and have been told that that is life basically, and i have no redress. I'm just posting this as a warning to anyone else as I see this as an easy way for fines to be raised from 80 to 120, and there ain't nothing you can do about it.
