im in the middle of getting parts to put a new bike together.

new to this whole thing. i noticed my forks dont fit a regular bolt axle.

my question is can i change the axle for a skewer one or do i need to change the hub?

havent bought wheels yet, was just gonna stick with the ones off my old crappy mountain bike until i can get some decent ones.

    Hey there,
What fork did you get? It might have 20mm or 15mm dropouts. You should be able to get adapters for your regular quick release hubs.

It depends on the hubs - some can be converted, some can't.

What forks and wheels are they?

rock shox dart1 are the forks i got

the wheels i have at the moment are just bog standard ones off a cheap old factory bike. i think theyre 12mm bolts

The Dart takes a 9mm axle - either quick release or bolt.

Unless you have some weird wheel it should fit.
