    From the Track Racing Email:
Now for the downside (apart from the weather!!). We had an unscheduled mass participation event late on Wednesday evening when the container in which we store our rental bikes was broken into. We recovered many of the stolen bikes from the immediate locality but as of now approx 10 are still missing. Even more tragic than the fact that one of them is mine, is that all the missing ones were the ones with pedals, especially the type we use for beginners. This seriuosly damages our ability to promote the sport within the locality. I do feel however that more of these bikes will turn up when those who took them realise that they are quite difficult to handle - fixed gear -no brakes. They will also quickly realise that there is no market for them as they are too recognisable and of no use to anyone except track riders. It may even happen that now that they have tried out the bikes, they may choose to get involved through more official channels.

We have welded the back door of our container and we are confident that there will be no repeat of the breach, but bottom line............we want our equipment back! All our bikes are older green Dolans, but a blue and a red/white/blue Dolan was also taken. We feel that most of these will be abandoned in the surrounding area but they also could be offered for sale. We still have quite a few bikes available for rent but our most immediate concern is our lack of pedals esp the 'rat trap' variety. We would ask that anyone coming that wishes to hire a bike, bring their own pedals & shoes and any one that could loan or donate pedals of the 'rat trap' variety would be most appreciated.

Awful:( lots of little scumbags around that area so you really cant leave anything unattended for a minute.

I do a lot of running around there so Ill keep my eye's peeled but once these things walk there difficult to get back.

This stinks. But considering the stolen bikes are all fixed gear, a good place to start the hunt for the thieves might be the A&E wards of Dublin's hospitals...

Ugh, some people are such kn*ckers

I live near Sundrive so I'll definitely keep an eye out.

Hmmm, what to do if I see one of the little sh*ts?
