    Taylors Play-off Preview

The four best darts players around at the moment have fittingly made the play-offs for the Premier League, when the pulsating tournament comes to a thrilling conclusion at Wembley Arena on Monday, live on Sky Sports.

Phil Taylor has dominated the tournament from its inceptions and has won all four previous editions of the Premier League, and few would bet against him making it five on the spin at Wembley.

'The Power' has been in awesome form on the circuit this year, and duly finished top of the Premier League table ahead of James Wade, with Raymond van Barneveld and Mervyn King filling the final two places.

That means it will be Taylor v King in the first semi-final, a match that has plenty of needle in it after 'The King' threw a dart over Taylor's head during their drawn first meeting of the league section.

A fired-up Taylor dismantled King 8-2 in the last night of league action, and he will be going for a similar result when the two clash in the best-of-19 leg semi-final on Monday.

    Grudge match

"I'm looking forward to it," Taylor told skysports.com. "He's (King) one of the players you look forward to playing, and if you beat him even better. He gives you that little bit of grind.

"The Premier League is brilliant, its over such a long time, it's a marathon not a sprint and you've got to show some great form to win this one, it's a great tournament.

And what makes Taylor so dominant in the Premier League?

"My experience," he says. "I'm used to handling the pressure, that's one of the things I've got more than some of the other players.

"I'm going into the tournament knowing I can win, and that's the difference, Mervyn King, James Wade and Barney don't know whether they can win the Premier League.

"That's the difference, I'm mentally stronger than them and that gives you the advantage."

    Opposition

And if world number one Taylor, as expected, beats King and makes his fifth Premier League final, he accepts world number two Wade is favourite to be waiting, but won't rule out old rival van Barneveld.

"Everyone thinks Wadey will batter Barney, but I'm not sure," Taylor added.

"He's obviously the favourite, but I'm just not sure whether Barney will come up strong, a lot will depend on how he starts, if he starts slow and gets his head down then it'll be good night Vienna.

"James is brilliant when he's on form and it just depends which James Wade turns up."

Left-hander Wade made a slow start to the league but picked up well, beating Taylor en route to a second-placed finish, while he also defeated Barney twice in their league meetings.

The big Dutchman has been out-of-sorts in the Premier League, but if a change of darts could have a similar impact to when Taylor switched his arrows, then Barney could again be a force to reckon with.

Either way there will be three top-quality tungsten contests at Wembley Arena, as the biggest and best Premier League yet concludes in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

I hope it is a Taylor v Wade final, Barney doesn't have it in him to beat both Wade and taylor on one night, not giving King so much as a look in in the other semi
