July 26th, 5 days after david Gray and David kitt.
Got my ticket and rearing to go!
    Missed him twice last year..
But not this time, can't wait!

    Any one else going?
I thought the €35 price tag was a bit steep but it's worth it!

€35 seems a bit steep for me! Might just grab a few tinnies and beach myself down by the river when he's playing ;)

    Google - Galway hostels.
The cheapest on HostelGalway.com is €10 and it goes on to €12.50, €14, €15, €18 et...
Or you could always go adventurous with couch surfing or camping.

Was my first idea aswell, but feck it, it'll be the only chance to see him this year.

35 is a bit steep alright.

I'd love to head down but I'll have to see how the funds are looking nearer the time.

Booked my ticket yesterday. Ridiculously excited. Will accom. be hard to come by during the Arts Festival? Should we be booking stuff well in advance, or...?

Haven't booked anything yet but we probably should asap, It's hard enough to get somewhere cheap to stay in Galway in July and August anyway...and that's without the festival.

Only a few days left till this, seriously can't wait! Anyone know what the venue is like? Is it a big tent or what?

I can't go :( Can't get rid of my ticket either, it's all a shambles.

Anyone heading down solo? Cant get anyone to come as most of my mates are working or respond with "who the hell is Bon Iver"

Still half thinking of driving and down and back on the night but not sure about the flying solo bit :o

    Yeah, 23rd. My mistake.

It's in the Big Top as far as I know.
And if it's not 'THE' Big Top, I'm fairly sure it's a tent of some kind.

Can't wait for it now. Heading down tomorrow morning and not driving home again till Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Absolutely brilliant concert. Wasnt expecting it to rock as much as it did.

    Top class stuff.

Really enjoyed the gig, wasn't sure would it work better with a band or solo, but the band were great. Nice to know the rumour he used to live in Galway is true also :)

The band actually made it. He was a real humble character, really enjoyed it.

I was really impressed with the venue and set up in general. Kudos to Gugai for whatever role he had in it.

I'm in the same boat as you, from what i've heard this was his only Irish performance this year :(

I was hoping that maybe the good folk at electric picnic would get him in on the line-up but thats looking less and less likely. It would be awesome if Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes were on the same bill at the picnic!

Such a good gig, the band just took the music to another level. It worked really well. Its great to see how its brought across as being a band and not a one man show. There was even one great song were only the drummer/bassist sang.

Fantastic gig, lovely setting, for a "Big Top" it's a grand size for a gig. Loved how he rocked out Blood Bank, and the Wolves encore was perfect. The honesty in his music that attracted me to him in the first place was definitely present in the live act.

Didn't much fancy the support act for all the hype that's following her. Sounded too much like Sinead O Conner.
