Hi i am looking for a night-time course in hairdressing. I work in retail at the moment but want to train as a hairdesser but cannot afford to go to full time day course nor can i take a job as an apprentice 1st year as the pay is too low. I can find lots of beautican night courses but none for hairdressing. Can anyone help??

Hey thanx for that. Looked at Crumlin site but it states that you have to be working in the hairdressing industry! I also got in touch with my local vec college as they do a night time course but that's the same.:(
    Thanx

Even if you do the course to become a recognised hairdresser you have to do the full apprenticeship... My friends have done a 2 year course and any salon they go to still wants them to have an apprenticeship done... Look into this aspect of it alot more before you do one of these courses!!

I saw on the House of Colour website there is €200 of courses at the moment. Don't see times or details of courses there though.

Hey thanks for that. Had a look at that and yes they are giving €200 off which is great. The courses tho are run on mon, tue + wed from 10 - 5 which is no good to me also when i read into it they talk about sending you back to your salon with your new skills which to me sounds like a 'release' course from your apprentice job. Appreciate your help will give them a ring tomorrow anyway and find out more:) Thanx

you can do a course which qualifies you in a year, in one of the hairdressing schools like david marshall or robert chambers but it costs about €10,000
