    Hi.
Anyone know how remove an original ford radio out of a ford 7610 series 2 super q?
Tried to take it out last night but even when I released the sprung tabs either side, the fecker was still stuck solid. Want to get it out without making complete ****e out of it.
Also, got a good second hand sony radio from a friend, anyone know if i'm going ta get hardship wiring it into d tractor? Biggest problem is that I know feck all about radios etc.. Any Help or advice greatly appreciated.

theres a nut at the back of the radio aswell holding it in i think, not sure if you can get at it by lifting the cab (bolts on top of the cab and the white bit hinges back) as for wiring it, i got mine with trial and error and blowing a few fuses haha :D

Well in a Series 3 super Q ( i assume it is the same cab) you need to open the 3 bolts on the roof and lift up the roof like the bonnet of a car. Only then will you be able to remove the bolt at the back of the radio.

It's also way easier to wire the radio from the back so it's well worth lifting the roof, opening the 3 roof bolts only takes 2 min

Depending on how the original radio is connected to the tractor you might need an adaptor for the wiring. You can get them at any decent motor factors or maplin have them too. I seem to remember something about Sony radios requiring an extra live feed wire to retain the preset memory, if the supply to the existing unit is switched by the key.
