Minister Ryan has not apologised for this happening on his watch . That is because Ryan does not care . If we dropped down some OECD bicycle league he would :(

or some save the friggin whales thing or maybe some magical wood pellet green thing.
Like his green party will save the world and Ireland too, if only we would vote for their failed policies. Close the door of the Dept on your way out please Minister.

It's amazing what some muppets write in the papers though, anything will do just to sell a few more copies.

I sent them this in return:
    Ciaran,

Your commentary on the OECD broadband penetration report is a bit misleading, in one place you mention Denmark as the country with the highest penetration, and then your comments swerve towards the number of subscribers, placing Ireland in front of countries like Luxembourg and Iceland.

Such mismatch of information should not be happening, Iceland is one of the countries with the highest percentage of broadband subscribers - 32.8% ! But of course their total number of subscribers is lower than Ireland's, for god's sake they only have a population of 300000 ! Even if every person in Iceland had broadband, Ireland would still be ahead of them in the number of subscribers!

You could check your facts and read the report before writing such half-arsed comments in a reputable newspaper.

    regards,
    Daniel
