I only presume that it wasn't the Offaly keeper, who my mate still hates with a passion for conceding the goal! "95 goalie boll*x cost us 2 in-a row'!!!

I was at that game and while I don't remember who got the award, for me it was a toss up between Brian Lohan and Brian Whelahan, they gave 2 of the best displays of hurling and fielding I've ever seen that day.

Seanie Mc Mahon was chosen as MOTM by the Sunday Game in 95 altohugh it could have been argued that Fergie Tuohy was the best man on the field.

I suppose that considering Lohan played out the last 10 minutes with one leg he deserved it. Tuohy scored 4 great points from play and sent big Daithi Regan out over the sideline with a shoulder too!
Seanie was immense though as well and settled the team with his long frees. If memory serves J Pilkington had a good game too. Jamesie was bad though and it said something about the much maligned Clare forwards when their top scorer failed to score from play and they still won. Remeber talking to him afterwards and he felt really down about his own performance. Made up for it in 97 though with the match winner.

Seanie Mc Mahon was MOTM. On the day Kevin Kinighan (offaly fullback) was next in line. Brian Lohan with 1 leg and Fergie touhy were also immence for clare that day,
