That looks like a lovely run alright and obviously a lot of planning has gone into it, given the long list of instructions and information - I only wish I lived within 100 miles of Cork! Sadly I can't justify driving over 100 miles for a 4 mile run...or can I??!! This running obsession has to stop...:)

If only I'd found this while living in Cork many years ago - or had actually been running while living in Cork :)

Looks like a seriously fun circuit.

I'll be there tomorrow. Have a meeting in Dublin in the morning but should make it home in time. Looking forward to it.

Aww man, that looks like a great run. Would love to give it a go, but I'm just too far away from my old stomping ground (Quite literally in the case of Fota).

Just a quick one to remind everyone that Eagle AC is putting on a 4 mile race in the grounds of Fota Wildlife Park tonight, starting at 8:00. Entries are €10 each and this includes access to the Wildlife Park and all parking charges. Families will be allowed in FOC as long as they accompany an athlete.

There is a strict NO HEADPHONES rule - anyone found wearing them will either be told to take them off/be disqualified/or will not be allowed to race.

Hopefully I'll see some of you there! :D

Just back from the race, it was almost a complete success.

We had 677 finishers and not one complaint! The only minor point was the race started late, but that couldn't be helped because of the large field. The major thing that went wrong was the finish chute was just not long enough. I was one of the time keepers (the tall English bloke with the 'Cork Athletics' hat) and the runners kept backing up. We're going to start the race 2-300 metres further back next year so we can have a longer chute at the finish.

Does anyone who ran it have any comments/suggestions?

Great to hear it went well. When done on successfully organising such a differentand unique race.

Great race. Finish chute seemed to be a problem alright once the first 100 or so were in.....but at least ye had the sense to start moving the finish line back to account for this so it never became a danger.

lovely course, plus with the crowds that came nobody expected it would start at 8 and there wasn't really too much waiting around at all for the start. Well organised weather also which made a big difference

was at the run, really enjoyable. delighted to see such a crowd cause we are always late and usually rushing to register but there were so many there we were in plenty of time. looking forward to next years

Was there too and really enjoyed it. The weather and scenery were perfect sure you couldn't' ask for a better place to run and the organization was top class especially for
the first time running the event at such a unique location.
The chute and maybe someone looking after the traffic leaving the car parks are the only things I can think of as places for being improved but even at that it didn't cause much problems

Oh and the coffee and cakes at the end were yummy :)
