If it hasnt been mentioned already, gatso van under the bridge at finglas flyover at finglas village on the way out from town this morning. wasnt first time Ive seen it.

I passed that one on the N7 beside the esso garage last friday, looks like the same/similar one.

Yep, I live near there and its constantly in that spot - always seems to be on southbound lane. Limit is 60kmph.

the police are constantly there. i live beside it and the amount of people driving 6 inches from my bumper because im doing 60kmph and then undertake you........i quite literally slow down and laugh when i see them pulled over the cop bike under the bridge :D

but on another note, every morning this week the gatso van has been parked under the bridge rotating on what side of the dual carraige way its on.

Do you know something, speed traps deserve a thread to themselves. Will someone start the " There's a speed trap right now at " thread .

Ive been going in that way for last ten years, have to laugh everytime you see someone getting caught. if youve lived out that way for 6 minutes you'll know to do under the limit 7 days a week on the way in coming round the bend off the roundabout.

thats the first time Ive seen the gatso northbound though.

yeah over the last few months the cops were trying out the northbound lane with the laser as if testing it but they mainly sat on the southbound side.

i got my two and only points by the trap under the bridge inbound.

Despite travelling that road almost daily for the last twenty odd years and knowing full well that it is a favourite spot.

Normally I am stuck to 60kph with people undertaking me in the bus lane but it was late on a sunday evening and I had a few friends in the car, chatting away and forgot to slow down from the erratic mental speed of 70kph.

A lovely 6mph over the limit gave me the pleasure of two point and 80 quid fine !!! at least my anger was 50:50, 50 for me being silly and not doing what I have been for years and 50 for the guard who felt obliged to issue a fixed penalty notice for 6mph over a speed limit on a two lane road with no other traffic.

    But thems are the breaks.

this is why I love cruise control for that stretch of road. stupid speed limit but its the law

That really is a trap. 60kph is ridiculously slow on that section of road. Should be 80kph until after the bridge.
