Bearing in mind the general tone of most conversations here reagrding support and service I am extremely happy to report that I purchased a bike last October and the seat cracked in March. I didn't release till late April and immediately bought a new one since I needed one the following week.

While talking to one of the bike shops about my seat they said to me, Oh why don't you just see if they will replace it. I said, "What, I was a fat slow b'stard and it was my fault.". To which they replied, "You still are".

Okay so, I went onto the website for Fizik filled on their customer service warranty form and within two days they asked me for further information regarding the date of manfacturing. When I repplied they sent me a new seat no questions asked.

Brilliant guys, now my hack has a new seat :).

Obviously I can't reccomend there seats enough now!

Sweet. Personally I love my Fizik, most comforable saddle ever and really nice on the climbs with it's little duck bill back.

My "Felt 2.2" saddle is apparently modelled on the Arione and is equally comfortable.

Glad to hear that Scott, although I would say the chances of me damaging my seat through my "fat arse" are slim :)

The lack of perineal cutouts on fi'zi:k seats puts me off, but you've been doing massive mileage with no problems.

How low are you on the bike? Do you generally ride in the drops?

I'm currently trialling a Prologo Nago Pas Gel, which is better than my Selle Italia but not quite perfect.

I fancy trialling a Spesh Toupe but not sure where you can borrow them from.

Not very low. I don't spend much time in the drops at the moment as I haven't been racing and haven't needed to. In saying that I have no issue spending 45 minutes peddling along in the drops. I guess it all depends where and how the meat and potatoes lie ;)

    So far I've had...

Spesh Body Geometry: Not sure of the exact model, came with the Allez Elite. Very comfortable saddle.
Fizik Arione. the spesh BG broke in a crash so I tried this. Don't like it at all. No love channel so I find it uncomfortable. Didn't stop me doing the TOI on it though. Arse hurst for a week after it. Still using it though, must be a masochist or something.
Selle Italia SLR Gel Flow: not bad, quite comfortable. Scuffed very bad around the seat edges from normal use. Won't ever buy a white selle italia again.
San Marco Aspide: on the fixie at the moment while I break it in. It will eventually replace the SLR. Gotta keep that Cervelo looking good. I went for a long ride on loan bike with a similar San Marco and it was very comfortable. Liking this so far but not done any long ones on mine yet.

I would have bought the latest spesh toupe but it's a bit pricey.

There's no price you can put on comfort down there.

So if I pay you 70 quid you'll ride without a seat?

For Rent, One Tall Skinny Boy. 60 quid is all he asks. Confidentiality Assured. Will work for Bike or Similar.

Mods - Sorry this probably should be on adverts :D

What other saddles are people out there using and liking? And what do you think of saddles with anatomical cut-outs in the centre - a gimmick or a good idea?

The saddle that came with my Planet-X has a strip of fabric sewn onto the top that effectively administers a fine pair of arse bruises. So I'm looking at replacing it. My other road bike has a 4ZA Stratus which looks hard and uncompromising but rides quite comfortably.

my langster came with the specialized toupe, at first glance i though it was going to be a killer but its very comfortable.

i seem to fart alot on that bike though :P , dont know if its saddle related

Resurrecting this as I just searched for Fizik, was considering getting one.

What's the appeal of the Spesh Toupe? Had one on the rental I used in Canada, felt much harder than the POS saddle that came with my own bike, my seat bones were sore for a few days after a 2 hour ride.

I have a 143mm Toupe, and it's amazing. Wide at the back, but no thigh rub. I don't find it hard at all even for 6 hour rides.

Saddles are a very personal thing.

Interesting..I was hoping a Fizik would be the one for me, will try it and see.
