Do you need it to be monophonic or polyphonic?
Do you need it just for leads/basses or do you want pads as well?
    Whats your price-range?

My immediate instinct is just to tell you to get a MicroKorg/Micron and be done with it but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in this case.

hi, thanks for the reply...sorry for my late reply...

yea needs to be polyphonic, i own a micron but its gonna get battered when im touring (i like the micron but editing is a pain in the ass because of the screen, also had too many upsets with sysex patch editing) (microkorg too fragile also)...i need a small robust metal box of a module that has reasonably easy editing interface or computer editing interface and has mainly quality bass sounds...arpeggiator an advantage but id settle for phat john carpenter low drone type evilness :pac:

    thanks

Some of the small Waldorf stuff might be the ticket, or even the Blofeld comes to mind. The DSI Evolver or Mopho would have been perfect bar that they're monophonic. Akai SG01v is an outside choice or something like an E-mu rack.

Short of getting some ROMpler rack like the Triton or whatever, I can't think of anything else.
