    Hi All,

I am a young guy who is beginning to loose his hair at the moment. I am in my early 20's and have been looking into various forms of hair loss treatment (Which I can't afford!!). I feel ****e when people bring it up and it really gets me down talking about it.When people mention it, I just try to change topic of conversation. Does anyone know any good methods to possibly curing this that are not of a high cost?

    Thanks for reading.

I know this is not what you want to hear, but have you considered trying to get used to the idea of being bald?

I know several young fellas who are losing/have lost their hair. I also happen to be one of the (many!) women who think a nice, shiny bald head is sexy :-)

Tbh dude I dont think any of those treatments can work out without you losing alot of money and still being bald at the end of the day. I think your best bet is to accept the fact, take a positive atitude to it and beat it to the punch by shaving your head!

Hair loss treatment is all rubbish .The same happened to me .I spent a fortune on hair treatment none of it any good .Got depressed and withdrawn used to use hair thickener . Met a hot swedish girl one night in town and she convinced me to shave it all off in fact she brought the by the hand to the barber . I never looked back.Apparently Sean Connery hung upside down to try and stimulate growth.

Don't worry about it doesn't mean jack . Its counterproductive to you and when I think of all the years I wasted worrying about it.Shave it off grow a goatee or whatever .Work out get a real fit body ,wear really nice clothes , these are all the things I did.

Work on your self confidence make it bulletproof been there it doesn't mean anything girls will still like you but you have to be confident and comfortable in your skin.

I'm in the same position OP. Early 20s and its really noticable now. And a shaved head so doesn't suit me. I've tried loads of things to try hold on to it. Havent found anything that works tho. :(
I've heard that hair replacement stuff works tho. The thing where they remove a strip of flesh from the back of your head and put hair follicles one by one into the top of your head. Done under a local anaesthetic. And it's advanced a lot in the last few years so you dont end up with that dolls head look. But I saw an interview with the doctor and he said himself it's not cheap. it'd be the equivilant of buying a new car for most people. Don't think I'm going to have that kinda spare cash any time soon so just gonna have to accept it.

I've heard of a lot of people around who have spent huge money on hair transplant surgery. And you know nearly every single one of them has regretted it and most end up shaving their head anyway. The only difference is that they then have a big scar on the back of their head from where the follicles were taken. In addition your hair continues to recede so you'll likely need multiple transplants which is seriously expensive! Also the likes of Rogaine and Propecia aren't the miracle cure they're made out to be. Most people don't notice a difference and it stops working as soon as you stop using the product. I mean c'mon do you really see yourself applying Rogaine 2 times a day every day for the rest of your life?

can I ask what age you are (don't answer if you don't want). I'm male, turned 21 in April and currently have the same head of hair for as long as I can remember. All the men on my dad's and mothers side of bald or have a receded hairline. Frankly it depresses me thinking about going bald as I've grown my hair to say medium length and have a Patrick Dempsey/Zach Braff kind of style going on and I like it and I get complements about it. ISad and pathetic I know but It puts a smile on my face which these days helps! I used to have a close shaved head (3 blade) all around until I was 19 when I decided to grow it and everyone says its suits me a lot better than the short hair, so what am I gonna be like when I have to shave it. I'm just wondering is it when I'm 22/23 will I loose it or 25/26? My dad said he started to loose his at 23, but he also said he was skinny like me and when he turned 19 the weight started to pile on, I havn't gained much weight since I was 19 so I'm hoping I'm the exception.

    To the OP:

Bald is so sexxy......please don't have any medical op done. Loads of my friends feel that way. I am not in my 20s anymore but for as long as I can remember I have had a thing for bald men. They seem to ooze testosterone. Don't like the combover thingy or the very shaved look, just nice and short looks so clean and sharp.

I have very thick hair and guys notice my hair...I don't even notice it.
