the radio in my Almera is the tape kind, I'm wondering could i up date it, and keep the connectivity in the steering wheel! the problem is that the tape player is integrated into the face plate, so would it be possible to get a new radio & a cd player faceplate!

    thanks guys

I have upgraded the stereo myself, I needed:

    1 x new fascia

1x ISO to (whatever the Japanese standard is) converter

1x arial converter (this allows new stereo to receive radio signal and acts as the ground for the radio- i.e. it is essential)

And I could not find an adaptor to allow the steering wheel controls to be used. If you find one would be very grateful for a PM telling me where I could get one too :)

If you want instructions on how to remove the dash, give me a PM.

checed this out before, could only find an adaptor lead for the Almera Tino, which could be a different stereo. couldn't find a lead for the regular Almera

Might be less hassle to just find an OEM cd player from a scrapped Almera is a breaker's yard. I think a cd player was standard on the Almera from 2002 afaik. You could also check out ebay for one.

Just be sure it is not the facelifted 2003 onwards model though as that had a redesigned stereo and centre console.

Nissan did a CD changer for the Almera, might be able to pick one of them up
