Online oil supplier

I recently bought a car that needs good quality fully synthetic oil. I rang around my usual oil suppliers (North dublin motor factors) and they were fairly dismissive saying that semi-syn would be fine. I wasn't happy with this as I know that my car (200sx) is hard on oil. I don't shop in Halfrauds on principle so I looked around online and was recommended Opie oils from the sxoc.

    This is my reciept:
Product Quantity Sub Total: Oil and Filter Service Pack NISSC3D
    SKU: NISSC3D
This service pack is for a NISSAN 200SX (S14) 1994 onwards and contains: 5 litres of Motul 8100 X-Cess 5w-40 and an UFI oil filter ref 23.484.00
    1 £30.42
AIR FILTER: UFI air filter 30.973.00 -single

    SKU: 30.973.00-1
    1 £5.68
Bilt Hamber Auto Clay REGULAR -200g

    SKU: BILTREGULAR1
    1 £9.56
    Goods Net: £45.66
    Carriage Net: £18.00
    Sub Total: £63.66
    VAT: £9.54
    Total: £73.20
The oil is an ester based synthetic so its pretty good. They also supply Silkolene which is nigh on impossible to get over here. Both Motul and Silkolene would be comparible/superior to Castrol Edge for example. The delivery can be slow so you need to buy in advance but it arrived well packed and complete. I thought the service was good and the price ok so I thought I'd share it with you lot.

I'm not affiliated in any way before someone asks.

Sounds like you are but as you stated your not,so I'll believe you.
Yeah,Opie market to owners clubs a lot and have a good rep from what I understand.

I've also used them and found them very good. If you join their site and also join an affiliated owners club website you get a significant discount - about 20%. They seem to mainly do premium oils. I'd recommend them.

I'm really not, I've been posting on here for some time so I know the rules:cool:. Its just that all fully-syn that I could find here were modified semi-syn (cheap way of making full-syn) or 75euro for 5L for the good stuff.

I'm a joining SXOC soon and yes they do give discounts to members.

Just for comparison, 7 litres of Mobil 1 0w40 synthetic is the equivilant of €106 delieverd from Opie Oils. The same amount is €114 from Halfords. Is it worth the wait?

Maybe not in this case, it just worked out cheaper for me. Also he doesn't seem to have much selection in 0w-40 (only castrol and Mobil 1) and its the fuchs/motul/silkolene oils that seem to be better value.

Thumbs up here for Opie Oils too.

Used them to get 40L of fully synthetic oil sent to a UK address with a car club discount.

Should keep me going for ages :pac:

I also use Opie. Was recommended via the fto ireland club and I usually get the motul x-8100. I find it best to order 3, or 4 bottles at a time to save on delivery costs. You also get an extra discount when you order more bottles and it means you won't stinge out when it comes to oil changes. If i'm too lazy to do an oil change myself, the local Atlas garage is happy to use the oil I supply.

I used opie once, I found them grand, and they have good deals sometimes on car care stuff.

However I buy oils now from Patsy Keoghan (Meath), they'll deliver and their prices are excellent - although they only do larger containers, 20L +.

BTW I have no connections with the oil business. Unfortunately.
