    when you call into the dole office do you need your P45 to show you've finished up work?
    could you just fill out all the forms or whatever while you're waiting for the p45 and send in the p45 when you get it at a later date..

    It's better to get your claim started anyway.

    Then keep the social welfare office informed with a weekly letter that you are still awaiting your p45 - that way your claim won't get closed. This is so that when you do get your p45, your claim will get backdated.

    If you still don't have your p45 within 6 weeks, get in touch with the revenue.
