Ok this sounds very paranoid but just wondering does any one else have an opinion.
I am 21, reasonably good looking, like going out with my mates on the pull, just snogging etc a bit of fun. but since the recent flu alert I cant bring myself to do this anymore as I am afraid that I might catch the flu, I know it sounds bonkers but it has me worried as I'm missing out on my usual fun. Before anyone says I could have caught a lot worse, I am clean as a whistle. Just want to hear what others think.

Yes, your fears are unfounded. Has there even been a definite case of swine flu in Ireland? You're a thousand times more likely to catch normal flu on a day-to-day basis. There are hundreds of things you could catch, but you can't let that stop you going out and socialising.

I'd suggest speaking to your doctor about this, because you sound irrationally scared. Your doctor can explain everything to you, including your risk of catching swine flu.

The powers of be created the flu, to created unfounded flu.

If its going to happen its going to happen, nothing you can do and there is no point worrying about it. Turn off the T.V and you wont hear about the fear drilling of the dileberate swine flu scare.

It so obvious that this flu was created to scare us.

LOL... rather hilarious typo there mysterious :)

Yeah, OP, you're being way too paranoid. There's been, what, one case of swine flu confirmed here? And it was a kid I think. The people most at risk of death from the flu are the elderly, children, and generally infirm. So even if you did catch it, seeing as you're young and healthy, you'd get over it.

If you're still worried though, just ask them if they've been to Mexico recently :)

I work in the medical industry. We have a plant in Mexico city. We got a mail at the start of last week stating that the Swine Flu has been proven to be less deadly than the regular winter flu and is spread in the same way.

Funny how that didn't make it into the media at large, eh? I guess good news doesn't sell papers.

OP, I wouldn't change my habits if I were you, enjoy your life. :)

Well the affects of fear to the masses was the goal, this thread is an example.

    Get it yet?

Hope so, these lab generated viruses, are purposely create the fear. Just turn on the news, its swine flu alert go into a bubble and be in fear. Its funny that the swine flu only really targets the Americas and Europe, a co ncidence. The swine flu has no effect been in places like Africa really. Border areas such as Mexico is enough to put the US in a police state action.

Seriously kid open your mind, Learn to be aware for christ sakes.

mysterious take your wacky off topic musings to the conspiracy forum. Not here.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Life is full of risk, but worrying about swine flu is like worrying about being hit by lightening.

Try to keep some perspective and try to recognise that worrying doesn't really accomplish anything except get you down...
