San Francisco flight time and destination tips

Hi Guys.
Can anyone tell me how long the flight is to San Francisco direct from Dublin.I am due to travel there shortly Aer Lingus and while im looking forward to it i am dreading the long haul flight.Also is San francisco eight hours behind Ireland time difference.Any tips from anyone on what to see or do while there greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance.

Flight time is 10.5-11 hours roughly. Depending on winds it can be a little shorter or longer.

There is an 8 hour time difference

Things to do hmmm there is a huge amount.

Alcatraz - this is a seriously surreal place try and do the night tour.
Golden Gate - Rent a bike and cycle over the golden gate bridge and down to sausilito.

Fishermans wharf - spend a few hours down there go to the Boudin Bakery yum.
Spend time in Golden Gate park if you can. (DeYoung Museum, Acadamy of Sciences etc) Although the queues can be horrendous for the Acadamy of Sciences.
I'd recommend one of the sightseeing tours also. If you are into your movies you can do a movie tour (havent done this but will do when I go back)
Presidio - Old Army base ILM are now headquartered here.

Maybe take a day tour to Napa / Muir woods. Would have loved to do Napa the last time but just didnt have time.

Shopping - youve got union square / westfield center
