Mods, i know you'll move if Im in the wrong place.

    Hi All,

I had on old CRT plugged straight into the ntl box in the wall, im on basic channels package (no digital tuner box just the cable from the wall).

So i went out and bought myself a new fancy Plasma off the internet. Get it home, only 3 channels tune int (used to be 12!).

What i've now realised is that my tv doesn't have VHF Tuner and i can't get any of the channels.

Would anybody have any suggestions as to how I could get the stations?!

Im ragin with myself but had absolutely no idea there were different frequencies....ARSE!

Have you got an old VCR or DVD recorder around? You could pick one of these up cheap enough I reckon, and most will have a built in tuner in it.

Are you absolutely sure it doesn't have the tuner, or just presuming it doesn't because you can only get the channels on the UHF band?

My brother bought a TV from Tesco recently and had the same problem. The setup menu defaulted to UK but when he changed it to a different country (Ireland wasn't an option iirc but he tried a few different European countries) he was able to tune all the stations on both bands.

Failing that, you should be able to pick up a second hand NTL box easy enough. Then again, isn't NTL digital actually cheaper than the analogue package these days? New box, more channels and something like a fiver cheaper per month!
