ryanair potential hassle - name typo

I booked a ryanair flight last night and mistyped my own name II know - kinda dumn!). I accidentally added an extra letter at the end of my surname, therefore the name is different than on my passport. On the website the only way I can find to sort this out is a name change at a cost of e100.

Anyone know how else to sort this or is it wise to just take my chances at the airport on the day.

Once its only a minor typo you will be alright. Asked a friend who works for Ryanair on the ground in Dublin bout this one time and she said it would not be a problem with her. But perhaps you could ask some of the ground staff in the airport first bfore you get near the plane. Even though they work for Ryanair they are amazingly helpful.

if its a typo theyll only charge you €15

its to actually change the name to another person that they charge the €100

i had to do it before, i bought a ticket for my dad whos name is william, but i put liam in. they said they could change it for a €15 administration fee because it wasnt a passenger change, but an error correction

ryanair have always been great whenever ive had to deal with them tbh

As far as I know, no there is no other way. I don't think taking your chances on the day is an option. Ryanair are sticklers about this, it's the way they make money. Sorry, be more careful next time.

That's handy to know, could make it easier for those situations when you might want to swap a flight with a family member! Pretty surprised Ryan Air would be that understanding tbh.

They will sometimes do it for free for you.

I called them as I too had made a small mistake with my name and they corrected it free of charge.

Just give them a call. You might be suprised.

If they charge you more than it would cost you to book a new flight then just go on the web and book a new one.
