seen dual gbb often enough, do it myself sometimes in the warehouse

Last time I was at the warehouse I dual wielded a Mac 11 and a sawn-off double barrel shottie. It's fun but I'd say you get more kills when you're concentrating on firing one gun at a time.

I have, but not ub3r walking down middle of a open road pownzoring all within a mile radius.

Inside a building i've often had m4 in one hand and pistol in other, only for a short time though.

i have been known to dual wield support weapons but i'd not be looking for kills; rather to lay down plenty of covering fire and distrtact opponents from the more stealthy players

there is a space to dual wield pistols on a pistol only rigout if you practice with them you can fire on a target

I write left handed & would naturally hold a pistol in my left hand. I play Golf right handed and would naturally hold a rifle right handed. So dual wielding a pistol/smg in the left hand and m4 in the right hand works ok for me. Have only done it once but tis great craic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭zero19

I imagine it would be good craic with a gbb but reloading would be an awful pain, and your accuracy will of course be down a lot. Spend the money you were gonna spend on a new gun on your current main gbb on magazines and upgrades...

if ever i was do it, id do it with both guns side by side, so you only need to sight one, as apposed to the "look u8er kuul" the unit way.,

the only people who dual wield are the kinda people who love hicaps and play warhammer as a hobby.

It's ineffective but can be fun (not to mention you'll look kewl as a cucumber). Although the novelty does ware off fairly fast, so you decide if its worth buying another M9.

The most effective person I've seen is Gar from the Ghosts doing it in the warehouse with dual mp5ks. Effective, casual...awesome.

I had dex in fits when I duel wielded my m16 with m203 and a .357 magnum in the lane in HRTA.

I know Dr.Pepper appreciated my dual wielding pistols, and when the magnum ran out of ammo, I dramatically extended my arm out and dropped the revolver, spun around flailing my jacket, and whipped out a USP to continue to duel wieldage.

But this is probably the only way to dual wield

At the gathering 2 there was a guy on my team dual weilding an m249 and a g36 with a c mag. For the sake of realism it was ridicules but im glad he was on my team. He was like a one man fern cutting whirlwind.

    "Fire over there!!" BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

i think it would have to be something quite small and light to be able to do it properly like 2 mac 11s would be good or mp7s or something did anyone ever see in the film wanted the bit near the end when Wesley breaks into the building and he is dual wielding everything dropping and catching guns in the air killing everybody

    dual weilding

i never dual-wield because it feels very awkward to me (even though i'm ambidextrous when it comes to hold a rifle)...

... but ofte,n in capture the flag games, i tend to go for the flag and just use one pistol and hold an extra mag

.oO(wonder: does that count as dual-wield?)

Its actually a learnable skill but the bad news is that it takes AGES and much like a lot of fine-motor-skills if you dont practice every day you will lose it.

Many martial arts practitioners will have learned rudimentary (at least in terms of airsoft) dual wielding with nuchucks, kama or sai etc. Any of them will tell you that once you get the hang of it its easy enough but that it is really dangerous to begin with.

In order for you to learn to shoot dual wield you'll need to decide what you are going to dual wield with. Be realistic about this. Dual Wielding M249's doesnt make sense, you have all the firepower you need in one and the extra weight is only going to make you immobile and a sitting duck. Two M4's/Ak's is no better since their length makes them awkward to use single handed (you wont have anywhere near the dexterity you would have using a single rifle).

This leaves you with two options. SMG's and pistols.

SMG's are a better option than the above two simply because of their pistol like dimensions while retaining the full-auto option. When choosing an SMG to practice thsi style with you should look for the smallest one you can find with an extended magazine. Mac-11's are about the best you'll get due to the ergonomics and weight distribution on them (hammer like). MP5-K's are a reasonable choice but their forward magazine assembly will give you something else to worry about.

Pistols are an excellent choice for this. Small, light, dextrous etc and used properly they can be deadly accurate at close ranges. It should be noted however that most pistols dont facilitate the full-auto option which for many will be a vital component of this tactic. 1911's with single stack mags, glock 23's, USP's and SIG 228's are good choices for this. Beretta M93r and Glock 18c pistols provide the full auto option and have readily available extended magazines.

Before you consider dual wielding you need to accept a few facts about the pro's and con's

    Pro's
You will have an increased firepower and ability to put bb's down range.
You will have the ability to fire at two different targets at once.
You will look totally awesome if you can pull it off.

    Con's
You will not be anywhere near as focussed on a single target as you would be using a single gun.
You will have to sacrifice a measure of speed and reaction time as your brain will be processing for two different articles.
You will use a lot more ammo.
You will look a complete gimp if you balls it up.

To learn to shoot dual weild you'll need to do the following.

With your dominant hand shoot a hundred rounds at a 5" target 10 feet away in sucession facing fully on to the target. Repreat this process until your accuracy of hits meets or exceeds 65-70%.

Once you are consistant in this move the target back by 5 feet and repeat until you achieve an accuracy exceeding 70%.

Keep repeating this process until the target is 20 feet away and you have an accuracy of 80% within the 5" marker.

Once you have attained a sufficient accuracy in this way switch to your weak hand and repeat the process (reducing the accuracy requirement by 10% to compensate for dominance).

Once you are comfortable shooting with either hand consistantly shift your body profile and repeat the process both side half-side facing (with only half of your torso facing the target).

When you have become totally comfortable shooting with either hand its time to start training your brain. Holding a gun in each hand raise your weak hand first in half side facing and fire a shot at the target then quickly shift your body and fire at the target with your dominant hand. Repeat this process until your overall accuracy is 80% and your dominant hand accuracy is at least 70% at 20 ft.

Once you are proficient in this you can turn ful face to the target and fire both guns at the center of the target. Be slow and methodical as your brain is having to do a lot more computing than before so you will suck at first but given enough time and practice you can reasonably expect to hit a stationary target with both rounds 70% of the time at 20ft (allowing for weather). You arent done yet though!

Once you have achieved 70% accuracy at 20 ft you want to train yourself to fire both guns in half side facing to the left and the right. This will train your brain to compensate for slight variations in your position when taking aim at your target.

Finally we get to the good bit. Learning to shoot two separate targets at once. Physically very few people can do this since there are great variaitions in eye dominance, vision, visual tracking ability, spatial awareness etc which can help or hinder your ability. Humans developed to instinctively hurl rocks and spears and a single moving object, not two.

To train this in you will need to place up two targets approximately 6" apart and parallel at a distance of 5 feet. Raise both guns at the targets and wait until your brain allows you to see both targets simoultaneously (for some people this may actually be both targets merging into a single target, weird but I know one or two people whom this happens to). Repeat this process over and over in sets of 100 shots until you are proficient enough to be hitting both targets in a single volley 60% of the time.

Now move the targets back 5 feet and repeat the process. Keep doing this until you are achieving roughly 50% sucess in striking both targets with a single volley at 20 feet. This will take a long time. Once you are comfortable in full face alternate sides using the same distance measurements until you are happy shooting from either side with reasonable accuracy.

Finally you will need to teaqch your brain and nerves to shoot like this at moving targets. On a wheel or a a windmill apparatus place the two targets at the extreme left and right and set the device spinning. Starting the entire process over again from the weak hand and a single pistol attempt to pop both targets each time the device rotates. Do this until you have achieved 70% accuracy with both hands before moving on to the complicated stuff.

The benefit of the wheel is it first teaches the brain to time your shots, then to cope with a moving target and then, eventaully, to targets moving in opposite directions.

Most people never finish this program (I know I didnt) because it takes a long time, is exhausting and will eventually drives you mental. However, even completing the first 3-4 excercises will improve your pistol or SMG shooting from one hand dramatically and is worth the effort.

all of these techniques, except for the dual weilding, can be applied to a two-handed "proper" grip on a pistol or smg as well with similar improvement (only you should demand an additional 10%-15% accuracy from your self to compensate for the balance issue).

    Practice makes better, never perfect.

I always have a rifle in my room, more recently my 416. And when I have a spare minute or two, waiting for a download, bored, world of warcraft loading something, I take my rifle in my hands, with my mag behind my back and practice loading and reloading. Started doing this around October last year, and I do it everyday. My reloading has gotten pretty fast at this stage.

The same with pistol techniques. I am lucky enough in that I have a shed on the corner of the alley in my garden where I shoot my targets, so I regularly use the shed to fire around.

Usually 3-4 times a week I'll spend an hour just shooting my targets, straffing right to left, low to high high to low, hip firing, fast aiming, pistol drawing ( i suck at that fast) dual wielding. ( and more recently firing my bow and arrow)

Just get the practice in. The hardest part about dual wielding is reloading efficently and quickly. I've this down to nearly a fine art...if you have to take your hand of one of the guns to reload, your no doing it right.
