Depends are you the dumpee or dumper and what are you meeting up for?

Need more background to give a proper answer.

As the previous poster mentioned, more info would be needed. We don't know the circumstances of how the break-up came about. But I will go out on a limb and say, relationships end for a reason. Something wasn't quite working out. I accept that there are exceptions to the rule, but these are few imo.

If the break-up was amicable, (or at least as amicable as they can be), then I don't see the harm.

However if the break-up was the result of your partner messing you around then **** meeting up with them. If someone messes you around in a serious way it means they obviously have no respect for you. Erego they have no ground for demanding you meet them, or trying to spin any of this "I need closure!" BS.

If your partner and you ended on good terms then I'm all for meeting up and hopefully maintaining a friendship. If, on the other hand, your partner misbehaved then I say **** 'em.

If he/she dumped you, then don't give them the pleasure of clearing their conscience. It's too painful to meet, usually. If you really want to meet somebody who dumped you, then definitely don't meet. You are still sick, and in recovery (emotionally speaking, of course).

Go through the anger and then forgive them, but don't let them know you have forgiven them. You only eat yourself up when you don't forgive. However, it is a bit complicated as if you direct your anger (due to not forgiving) correctly you could make great changes in your life. It really depends on your character. Don't get bitter, then you've lost your soul.

Having said that, I have long forgiven the girl who broke my heart in 1995. Now, I'd have no objection to meeting her and I do feel sorry and a bit of guilt (particularly since I didn't respond to her letter apologising in 1997). Time heals: if it doesn't heal, it kills.

+1, plus how long has it been since ye broke up?
There are all sorts of scenarios and circumstances surrounding breakups and people maybe meeting up afterwards. Some cases are straight forward, some aren't.

If you where the dumper dont meet up.

Usually end up back together and where you started.

Which means eventually you'll have to do the dirty deed again!
