A nice surprise today the final two episodes of 24 have been leaked a day early.

Only got a chance to watch episode 23, but it does put the idea in my head Almada may still be under cover which I have always hoped for. Although he did kill a lot of good guy so far this season. Still didn't get to see Olivia get her come uppence, but it doesn't look like we will have long to wait. Excellent episode looking forward to watching the grand finale later.

Dear Peter Griffin, Stan Smith and Henry Tudor,

I'm sorry to inform you that your viewing has been consigned to tomorrow night's schedule.

    Best regards,

    Jack Bauer.

Oooh, didn't realise this, must acquire.

    I think Ep 23 was good, Ep 24 was a bit so-so.
Knew they'd leave it open, interesting to see Renee go in to the room at the end. I thought she'd do it until Janis said think of Larry then thought what an easy way out....then she did go in!!
They again played the apology card to the Muslim audience for some reason, seems a bit OTT to me :o
Always knew the ending was going to be Kim getting the treatment, leaving us not knowing if it works until next season.

I'd say next season will have Renee on the run trying to save the day and Jack will come in and help her after a couple of eps.

Oh in Ep 23 we have quote of the series :D
Renee: "Did you see where they went?"
Airport Security Guy: "It was Chaos....There were people running everywh....ughh"
Legend he deserves an oscar for that acting :)

    Roll on Season 8 :)

Got around to watching eps 24 , it was a bit of let down. Especially when you see the finale of a show like supernatural which leave you gaggin for the next season. It wasn't that it was terrible it just didn't really leave me excited looking forward to season 8.

After a very good season, that was a bit of an anti-climactic, letdown of an ending. Will Jack die in his coma, or will the unlikely cure actually work? Of course it will. Jack Bauer isn't going to die between seasons, like this. I'd bet there will be some side effects though, that will dog him for the next day, but nothing he can't get through.

The Kimnapping wasn't as drawn out as I thought it would be, which was good, and ended in quite a bit of bloodshed, without Jack even being involved.

Olivia's comeuppance was good, though I half thought that President Taylor would let her off, for the old man's sake, but not to be.

Renee going into the interrogation room at the end is very interesting. Will she torture information out of him, with Janice watching, or will she just kill him for what he's done. It's amazing that, considering they suspect him of being involved in terrorism, that they didn't pull the Patriot Act on him and bung him off to some far off land to be beaten till he talks. Though, maybe that's what Tim has planned for him.

Anyway, after once again blowing their load too soon, this was disappointing, especially when you consider how much time they had with the 2 year break. Doesn't leave you waiting with baited breath for next year.

Really enjoyed this season, i thought the ending wasnt bad, but it wasnt great either. Looking forward to next season to see what happens to Renee after shes goes into the interrogation room and to see how Jack copes with the treatment.

Yeah it definitely lacked that oomph that most of the other season finales had. For some reason I really just wanted to see him die a nice dignified death instead of dragging it on and on. Yeah the whole muslim last rites thing was blatant brown-nosing I thought, not really necessary.
In terms of Tony turning tail, again, it was pretty obvious. I liked his freak-out at the end though, and revealing that Michelle had been pregnant.
Stem-cell treatment, another no brainer and therefore lacked any kind of punch when she went ahead and told the Doctor to start the procedure.
I liked the way Renee's turn to 'the dark side' was handled though and itll be interesting to see what she can smack out of Wilson. Is he the head honcho after all? Doubt it. Probably another hierarchy again for the ultimate conspiracy group. The La-li-lu-le-lo maybe? :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 150 ✭✭#Daniel

It was... predictable, no real twists or anything. I thought Carlos Bernard was brilliant in his last scene, intense stuff.

I wonder who the baddies will be in season 8. I really hope they change to something else, the whole patriotic american bad people just doesnt click with me.

All in all, I really enjoyed this season. It was in my opinion better than the last, but it didnt top season 5!

Really liked it, Tony's true drive behind his actions was believable, given all he was through.
I thought the Kimnapping was nicely done and not too drawn out.
At the end I thought giving the big moral choices to the Prez and to Renee, both taking rather different paths, although the Prez did seem to make a desicion on the Alan guy before credits rolled, suggesting he was unlikely to see the light of day again.

Given that the next season has been casted and has probably started filming it seems inevitable that Jack has survived, Tony has been cast in it too, so here we go with a Nina/Jack hate thing again.

Also the next season is to be set in NY, so a nice change of scene once again, that is to say they will shoot key scenes about some Landmarks whilst the rest will be shot in LA, just like season 8.

Anywho, 7 months to wait, or so, til the next one I guess, what on earth will occupy us in the meantime?

    Start watching Lost?

Yeah pretty good, tony was class, normally i can barely hear what he's saying with that silly whisper so it was good to hear him lose his head!

Not the best ending to a series but at least it sets it up for the next season!

Been thinking about that for a while now. These, and to a lesser extend season 3, then skip to 5. I can barely remember season 1, now, so it'll be like the first time all over again, except I know Kim survives, Terry dies and Nina is a traitor.

I'm so relieved that Tony wasn't evil in the end. He was more of a Jack-if-he-was-pushed-over-the-brink kind of character.

    Also...

Yeh I laughed out load at that. Was friggin hilarious.

It looks like season 8 is going to be a direct continuation of season 7, with the sick-jack;tony and angry-renee stories continuing over, possibly along with the president taylor/daughter story.

It did wind down quite fast (especially in episode 24, all the action was out of the way about 15 minutes in) but I still enjoyed it. Still, no sense of urgency for anyone or anything, as we know Jack will pull through and Tony's story is not yet over. The only thing I really want to know about is what will happen with Renee now. And I wonder if we'll have a new president next time around, as the whole deal with Olivia will be made public (hopefully... Taylor has probably been the worst of the presidents so far).

Gotta agree that it wasn't as great as season 5, but still a huge improvement on season 6 so I'm definitely looking forward to the next season, just not as anxiously as I'm waiting for some other shows to return...

What I thought was funnier was when Kim rescued the laptop and then said to Renee some crazy techno-lingo about how they can trace it to Jack's location. The look Renee gave her was priceless. Then Kim explained she worked in CTU for a while.
    Feckin hilarious.
I thought it was cool that they had Kim doing something to rescue her dad instead of it being the other way round.
But I thought it was bit tiresome that Jack's fits came and went according to whether he had to do something or not; "I need to get away from the bad guys, hey I don't feel too bad, I'll just slash their throats and make my getaway." "Now I'm on my own, time to have a fit again"
Predictable that they would go back to the stem cell thing at the end, that was signposted a mile off.
They made Tony a really hateful figure, which took some doing.
As has already been pointed out by others, the Imam visiting Jack was a sop to the American Muslim community. So now Jack and Muslims are best buddies after six years of him persecuting them? Well he had a bomb strapped to him in this ep so he's on the right lines:) (sorry, joke).
I liked the moral dilemma they put the pres in, she acted it well I thought.
I wonder what did Renee do to Wilson?
Hopefully we'll see more of her (and her rack) next season.
I wonder will they pick up straight after the events of today next year or will they have Jack all recovered and start afresh with a new threat?
I hope they don't continue on with that "group behind the group behind the group" nonsense. They've done it a good few times now and it's getting old.
Leaving Wilson and tony live means they probably are going to go down that route unfortunately.
Now excuse me while I go cold turkey for seven months. I'll have to get my fix during that trawling the web for season eight spoilers and occasionally putting on the early season DVD's.
I know, I really should get a life.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,297 ✭✭✭Ron DMC

They seemed to tie things up nicely... for now.

Pity they went with the preditable "getting the treatment, will he survive?" ending.

And I reckon we'll still see Renée next season, but unlikely in FBI if she does what she's about to. I reckon a rogue team including Jack and maybe Kimbo?
Might be a nice change to the constant 'obey the law' nonsense.

Did anyone else think the scene where the guy in the airport crashed was really well done. They showed Kim hiding behind a pilar and the car ramp up on its side right beside her. Very well shot.

They should have ended after Ep23. way better than 24. Mind you I didn't think the muslim scene in hospital was so over the top, or an apology card.

Can't believe I'm the first one...
The open ending is brilliant - risky experimental stem cell treatment.
Kim is going to die - Finally :D No more Kimnapping.

Renee's attempt to torture Wilson get interrupted, Renee fired from FBI and Wilson gets off, or is broken out by his people.
Jack lives and can understand Tony's hate and together with Rene the three are going to case Alan Wilson.

I loved Cloe's look when she told Janis her remark was meant as a compliment.

It rounded out a strong season pretty well.

I'm not sure what more they could have done to spice it up for the last hour. Prolonged the hunt for Tony and Alan maybe but I think the scene with Tony flipping out was done really well.

    ESAD Olivia. \m/

One thing I noticed in the last ep; When Jack pulled his gun on Renee in the van he told her that Kim was being held hostage and the line to the terrorist bird was open so she must have heard every word. She didn't do anything. Why not?
Obviously then the feds were able to move on Kim in the airport which compromised their plan. It would have been better for Jack not to tell her, I'm sure she would have been able to work out for herself why Jack was freeing Tony!

But she spoke about the small window, meaning, either way it woulda been over by the time anything happened

Stupid how her battery already died, then turned on AND dialled the FBI number AND connected the call instantly

    Good ol Sprint

Was a bit sad when Tony revealed that Michelle was up the duff
Weird, I was just thinkin abt Terry's death today...............

Copy of Jack/Terry, but was well done

Hope the next season is a comedy!!

Its 24! All we need is [not so] real-time and eye-level camerawork! \o/

They can head to NY and be the new ages Starsky n Hutch :P

I knew Taylor wouldnt let Olivia go

She's kind of the same as Jack in the way she's compelled to do what's right

Think Alan knows what Renéé has in mind, the look she gave him!

The airport scene was actually ok, bar the dying legend of a man :P

The part's where Kim was at the end of the stairs looked like some scenes from CTU!!

Good look on Renee's face too when Kim knew stuff :P

What threat have we got left now?

    Has to be aliens!!!

But we all know Jack will kick their intergalactic asses, as Chloe hacks into their spaceships

It's remindin me of Buffy.. How she died, and was happy, but then they brought her back from the dead, and she had to fight

She's the same as Jack in the sense that they feel if they CAN do something, they should. And Renee's catching on

    Maybe we'll have Vampires!!!!

    Roll on Season 8!

I shall be watchin it from Oz :D

Everyone seems to be expecting a huge cliffhanger ending... when has there ever been a proper cliffhanger ending in any season of 24?
The show is more realistic without cliffhanger endings.
I really liked this episode and the entire season in general. Nice to see Kim back - it would be cool if she was a series regular next season, working with Jack, Renee and Chloe... and possibly Tony...

Great season and finale. The entire thing felt like a continuation of season five, which was my favourite season.

I loved it when Kim's phone battery died, and she said "Damn it" before running after the villain. Like father, like...

I liked the Muslim cleric scene and Renee going ala Jack but I was less fond of the last minute intervention by Kim. It's fairly obvious they'll live.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,641 ✭✭✭gscully

I can exclusively reveal that Wilson escapes from the FBI, but not before bludgeoning Janis to death. Day 8 involves, Renee, Jack and Chloe trying to locate Wilson so that they can thank him...

All joking aside, Jack's late remorse with the Muslim cleric could mean that in Day 8 he has some serious issues with his conscience. Could make things interesting.

It was an ok ending-the idea of keeping Jack alive and using him to recreate the virus was a pretty good one IMHO.

One thing I have been wondering about-way back when the CIP device was missing and Sean was still alive, didn't Janis pull some stunt (in the comms room?) that suggested she may have had some funny agenda back in the FBI?

I really enjoyed both of these episodes, a good ending to a good season. Tony's motivation makes way more sense now, I can see how he'd have cracked. Shooting Cara was cold! I wonder how he'll be used in future.

I hope Jack's back to himself next season. His seizures were effectively used for the last few hours, but any more would get a bit boring.

Kim's part was pretty good, she's not such an idiot now. Seeing her kidnapped again would've been rather dull. Loved her "Damnit!" when her battery died. Just like her Dad! If she's back next season, she could be pretty cool. Her and Renee could have a pillow fight!

Speaking of Renee, her decision to enter the room with Wilson cements her as Fem-Bauer. She was super cool when she shot the guys from the side of the jeep.

So glad about the President's decision to turn stupid Olivia in. Big smug head on her, she couldn't get away with it...

Voting 9 and 10 certainly isnt as daft as voting 3. It was a brilliant episode and this is why......
    • Tony's motivations were finially revealed and his actions throughout the Day now made sense.
    • Carlos Bernard was fantastic and stole the show with some of his acting. The scene with him confronting Alan Wilson was so emotional.
    • The scene with Tony and Jack. Loved how Tony took credit for all the attacks that were stopped and belittled Jack's input.
    • Jack looking for forgiveness when talking to the Muslim guy. Great scene and showed us such a different side to Jack.
    • The Taylor's give us a great White House plot in the final episode.
    • Also the music was top notch, the Jack Renee conversation was very good.
What happens with Renee and Wilson, Jack and Kim and the Taylor family? Not major cliffhangers but certainly leaves alot of questions to be answered next season.

Now, how do you justify voting 3?

it wasnt as good an ending as, say day 4 or 5, it was a bit quiet. i heard a rumour that kim was going to be killed off, that would have been, well entertaining. I dont think Jack should have been infected in the first place, its a bit far fetched that he is going to be saved. I know a lot of stuff in 24 is far fetched but this is the man that faked his death, stayed silent despite being tortured in a chinese prison etc, i was disappointed that he finished day 7 asleep...and he didnt even torture anyone this season - i want the old jack bauer back

Yeah I am thinking the same. I was really hoping this season would be a really tight story something akin to season 1. They had more then enough time to plan from start to finish but it just felt like they kept to the same formula of having a super giant new threat that conveniently appears on Jacks radar at x:58 right after the last super giant threat has been nullified.

The finale was reasonable without being spectacular. The whole Jack is going to die plot just never really did it for me as we all knew he wasn't going to die. It would have been much better next season not knowing whether the show is going to get renewed and therefore Jack could legitimately be in peril.

Overall a decent season, better then 6, not up there with seasons 1,2 or 5 imo.
Oh as for people questioning other posters ratings, seriously get a life. Who cares what anyone else thinks.

Not a bad ending loved the prez sending the daughter down the river hopefully she will keep Pierse on.

At this stage surely Kim knows of your going to chase someone at least pick up a gun.

Good to see Paul Mc Gillion for a short spell getting Jacks body count back on track :)

Tony has been the star for me this season top class every ep and loved the fact he killed off Cara without any remorse at all COLD

And what more need we say about Jack with boobs she really did well pity she couldn;t have smacked Janice around a bit just for more tention but oh well roll on day 8

Just got around to watching them. Decent enough, episode 23 in particular, but didn't exactly have the finale vibe. A bit unspectacular.

While it was obvious that Tony manufactured the meeting with Wilson to kill him, though having said that I'm very glad it was driven by a deranged vendetta rather than it being revealed he was trying to save the day all along. I'm happy enough with that side of things.

The big question for me is what kind of timeline will be between now and Season 8. How far along will the treatment be? What exactly did Renèe do in the interrogation room?

Overall, while I wasn't as enthusiastic about the latter stages of the season, it was very good overall and a huge, huge improvement over last season.

The last 2 episodes really should be played together. Enjoyable 24 week all the same however, I think I might get them somewhere else next season.

Have to agree with what ye all said in June. Muslim/Kim/Renee/Olivia

I hope this does continue on into the next season they haven't done that since season 2 and 3 so I amn't holding my breath.
