My girlfriend is flying from Colombia to Dublin in August. RIght now she is applying for an Irish tourist visa for the 2 weeks she will be here but she was told that she will also need a visa for Spain because she will have to change flight in Madrid or Barcelona.

    Is this true?

SHe called it a schenge visa but Im not sure what it might be called in English. Does anyone have any previous experience with this. I think it might be because she is from Colombia and a lot of COlombians make their way into Spain and never leave.

It is called a Shengen visa and it is quite possble that she would require it to transit in Spain.

You could contact the Spanish Embassy in Dublin for advice perhaps?

Incidentally, the form she needs is here.

Yes. Thanks a million. Just as we thought. Thanks for the info but as far as I know, she already has all the papers ready to go. They are mostly the same as the ones she needs for the Irish visa.

The reason I asked was because I HEARD THAT MAYBE SHE DIDNT NEED IT. i WAS JUST CONFIRMING.

    aGAIN THANKS
