Vista and gaming (gta4)

    I have gta 4 and a new computer which has vista on it
    its a quadcore 2.4 3 gig ram 8800gtx
    Gta 4 isn't up on that high quality and actually considering all the videos on youtube of it, its quite low. System seems laggy even though i'm not using all the ram. With the game running it's about 2.4 gigs of ram being used but perhaps it goes up during gameplay? or other factors are involved. And the game mini freezes for split seconds a lot.

    Has anyone experienced issues with games on vista after being fine on xp with the same spec?

    Its a poorly optimised game and a bitch to run. I even struggled with an 3.2Ghz overclocked quad, 4GB ram and HD4870 when I tried it. It should never have been released on pc as it was never intended for pc.

    Its not a great game anyway, the wow factor wears off very soon when the missions get repeditive and boring, I gave up after 40% or so. I was a big GTA fan once BTW, just not anymore, this time they've blatently setout to rip off pc gamers and rushed out an unplayable game for the xmas market. They've still fixed it, 3rd and final patch is out and its still not playable. Glad I'm not the buying type.
