i've just moved to wicklow and have applied to get broadband..problem is eircom man came out and said that the box is full and has no more room for any lines..he said he could give us a split line which would mean no broadband..he said if that was no good he would go back to eircom to decide whether they would go through the expense of laying extra cable..which they might not in case we switch to a rival provider soon afterwards...so bascally we're screwed .the house next door has broadband(the mother in laws) anyone any ideas or suggestions...any help would be great as we're lost with out it..

The chances of eircom laying down some new cable just for you are pretty slim indeed. The best thing you can do is set up a wireless link between you and next doors wireless router.

How close is next door? Wireless is an option, though it does degrade significantly through walls. Running a long Ethernet cable between the two houses would be better, if it's possible.
