It's hard enough looking for a full size laptop around that price range :(

Those are two that I found quickly, I'm sure laptop direct has got many more but the first link is to an A1 graded refurb. So it's as new, decent specs.

Wouldn't like to run vista on either of those machines! They'd probably be dying out of the box. Celeron = woeful. Tbh OP you're going to struggle buying something worth having on your budget, second hand has to be the way. Check adverts and the buy and sell and the likes.

I wish it was but from my experience it really isn't. I've had to deal with countless people who have had problems getting things to work on it. Even the usb 3g modems which are quite easy to install on some (for example: the asus eeepcs have the software pre-installed you just have to enter in settings, the acer netbooks require you to download the software and enter in the settings) have caused a lot of people problems.

If the system is set up with everything they need up and running from the get go, it's fine. If anything needs to be set up or installed then this is where I've noticed the novice user slip up and have problems.
