Anyone have any experiences with these drives? I have been looking at a Buffalo Live Link 1TB drive on Amazon which is £173 + P&P so considering it quite a bit. Would be handy to plug it into our router and leave it work away without having a PC to be left on. O would I be better off getting a standalone regular 1TB drive? Is the bitTorrent built in client worth the hype?

Seeing as you can get a 1TB external drive now for E99 (Peats) I'd be inclined to think £173+ is a bit much to spend just so as not to have to turn on a pc. You'd get 2 of the E99 ones for the price of that single one.

I cant give you first hand info on an external hdd with built in torrent client but at that I dont think it'd be worth it.

How often do you use bit torrent? If very often, it may be something to look into.

Have found alternatives on eBay and the price has come down a bit from original one.

I'm inclined to go for the second one for the gigabit connection. However there is little or no information on the built in torrent clients. Still pondering....

It's a nice idea only if the inbuilt client is of some use. IIRC some routers can be reflashed to run some flavour of Linux with mTorrent and SABnzbd but it looked very technical.

However, if portability or space aren't a concern and you just want to free up your computer, an original xbox chipped might be something to look into.
